Hosts were great, room was very tastefully decorated, the house is lovely and the surroundings are great. Location is close to several pubs, easy access to other parts of Dartmoor.

Once there, it's hard to believe the Barton is so accessible to the highway. A mere 5 minutes off the A30, but a world away. Very peaceful setting at the gateway of Dartmoor. Both times I've visitied, I've seen the charming Dartmoor ponies roam in the back pasture. The rooms are cozy yet current and reasonably priced. Nice full English... More

warm welcome with cream tea/coffee and home made scones by the lady of the house ! the house is nicely decorated and great shower, there are small wonderful details like a body lotion, fresh fruit in the lounge room, .... I would go back if I want to visit northern dartmoor !

Laid back approach of owner made us feel like old friends. We had everything we needed with no fuss. Breakfast was fantastic. The most delicious plum comport ever!

Spent 2 nights at the Barton and we were warmly greeted with delicious scones in the garden. The room was spotless and very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Definitely would like to go back.

One of the best I've stayed in. Lovely location in a charming village, truly helpful hosts and a beautiful historical home. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast excellent. Right on the door step to the moors.

Recently spent 3 nights here and I would recommend it to anyone. A well-run and friendly B & B. Excellent breakfast, comfortable and modern rooms (although the twin room is not as large as the 2 doubles), lovely lounge/dining room for guests only, and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful- especially with recommendations of where to eat. Location is... More

This is our second stay at The Barton and once again it was truly wonderful. The size and cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness and high quality service is outstanding. With the moor less than 5mins walk away and lots of ideas in the visitors room at The Barton on different walks we had a great time. The Tors pub... More

I stayed here with a colleague for just one night on business. This is a lovely B&B in a scenic location. Very charming rooms with big comfortable beds. The owner was easy going and very helpful - especially when we had to ask her for a lift into Okehampton when our taxi didn't turn up!. The breakfast was made with... More
