My daughter (16yrs) and I visited the Lavender House today and had a back, shoulder and neck massage. It was my daughters first, I have been lucky enough to have had a few. The experience from start to finish had us at ease. We were welcomed and had very clear information. The massage itself was lovely ( came home and... More

Went to my wife's Christmas do and am never a big fan of Christmas events as I often find places provide an average meal. The dinner at Lavender House was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal which was well cooked and exceptionally tasty. The staff welcoming and enthusiastic. Well done.

We had exclusive use of the entire hotel for 2 nights for the wedding our daughter. The ambience of the hotel created by a roaring fire and wedding decorations made the guests feel warm and very much welcomed. During our stay the staff catered to our every need and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and tidy.... More

We stayed last weekend for a family wedding. The owners of the hotel made the hotel warm and welcoming (christmas decs were an added bonus), bedrooms were clean and tidy and the wedding room was beautifully decorated. Food was very good and the owners made the wedding weekend go seamlessly. A great time had by all.

My partner and I stayed here for three nights recently. The lady at reception was very welcoming when we arrived and the waitress at breakfast was absolutely excellent on the Tuesday and Wednesday. Sadly she was not on duty on the Thursday and on that day the service was awful. The breakfast itself was good on all three mornings. The... More

My husband and I had a 2 night stay on a groupon deal that we really did enjoy. We hadn't researched the area as we had bought it for our son and fiancée originally who couldn't get to use it within the allocated time. Ashburton itself isn't a town I'd revisit in a hurry but Lavender House was a nice... More

The hotel is well situated for visiting this part of Devon by car. It has lovely views over the valley. Our room (7) was clean and comfortable, had a good shower and nice views. There was a bit of unavoidable background noise from the adjacent room. The food was excellent, with a good choice on the dinner menu and several... More

I got married here in July 2015, although the hotel needs a little work here and there, it definitely shows they concentrate more on weddings. We were well looked after I didn't have to worry on the day as everything was sorted for me, the place was done up beautifully Keith and Carol are lovely. The 3 course meal was... More

Attended a ball for charity. Good reception and layout. Well decorated. Tickets were pricey and wine was extra. The wine was very expensive for what it was. Food was mediocre. Service was quick but a little perfunctional.

We are sorry you were not entirely satisfied with your evening. The event was structured by the organisers and not by the hotel management. The tickets were priced and sold by the organisers to equate as much profit as they could for the charity Devon Air Ambulance. The menu was the suggestion of the organisers and not set by the...
