Stayed in the purple room, absolutely gorgeous with a glamorous relaxing bathroom, had dinner in the restaurant which was fantastic, the food was great and the staff were really friendly which added to the really nice atmosphere , breakfast the following day was great with lots of fresh produce , I think the restaurant and b@b were great value for money... Agaric B&B is perfectly suited to mini-breaks. The rooms are furnished to a high standard (the Roberts radio was a novelty!) and the bathroom was beautiful! With only 4 rooms, Agaric offers a personalised, bespoke stay - I particularly liked the homemade biscuits which greeted us on arrival! The location (in central Ashburton) is perfectly suited a short stay -... More

My wife, I and 7 year old son stayed and ate here yesterday. We were booked in for 2 nights and had to pay for the two but we left after just one. The ROOMS are fantastic, big clean and very well furnished as is the bathroom. There are 4 rooms let out for B & B but ONLY 1... More

What a funny thing Trip Advisor is! You booked our family room for 2 nights on a busy weekend but at breakfast after the first nights stay you said you wanted to cut your trip short because of the weather. You then had a long conversation with Nick, owner and chef, where you said how nice your evening was, we... More

Whilst we cannot comment on the rooms as we only visited the restaurant - what I can say is that if the standard of the food is anything to go by then I wouldn't hesitate to book a room in the hotel. I stuck mainly to the vegetarian meals and my husband had the venison which he has raved about... More

My husband and I went to Agaric restaurant last weekend as it was our first wedding anniversary and have to say it was absolutely fantastic. The front of house staff were extremely pleasant, professional and attentive without being intrusive. The menu variety was superb and food just brilliant. This was our second visit and are booking for a pre Christmas... More

We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant, and I've posted on that separately. The B&B was also very good. We had booked the grey room but when we arrived we were told a last-minute cancellation meant that we could have the largest room, the Havana. This was quite lovely and characterful, and the added space was much more comfortable... More

This place is nice with very welcoming staff. But the our bedroom and the one next door were very small and did not have showers, and because there is no double-glazing the road is quite noisy. Most disappointing was the cooked breakfast - very average. We were expecting something special because of the restaurant but we received much tastier home-cooked... More

Thanks for posting your review and I'm sorry you did not feel your stay was value for money. We try very hard to please our local, national and international guests and feel we offer a pretty broad menu for breakfast, from homemade bread and jams, fruit and freshly baked croissant, full English, free range eggs, smoked haddock, vegetarian, continental.... The... More

One of the best hotels that I have stayed at in recent years. Breakfast superb - wonderful to be woken in the morning by the smell of cooking bacon. Breakfast table arrangements very good - met some very interesting people over a number of weeks there. Attention to detail very good. Magnificent baths. General antiquey atmosphere. Very quiet. I would... More

This is such a beautiful place! We only stayed 2 nights and missed out on the restaurant as we were there for a wedding but will go back and try the food. Menu looked delicious. The staff were very attentive, very friendly. There is a shop next door selling the most wonderful kitchen products, all part of the Agaric experience.... More

Lovely owners, superb food, great staff....what more can you say apart from it is a must!...I tried to be brief but apparently I need 200 words so here is some more...I always get put off by long menus so Agaric wins again...simple and straight forward menu.
