We were very comfortable in this hotel where we stayed for three nights. Our room was clean and we had everything we needed. A problem with the shower was dealt with immediately. At breakfast would have loved to have some fresh fruit offered and it would have been nice to have orange juice AND cereal rather than one or the... More

The management were good in letting us book in early as we were at a wedding at midday but there ends the positivity. Both members of management are quite abrupt but I've had better service from landlords when staying in rooms above pubs. Nobody offered to help with bags up the narrow staircases despite us having a 6 week old... More

I am sorry you appear to have had a negative experience with us. You will recall on the day things were very hectic at the time of check in. Many of the other wedding guests had arrived and everyone was congregated around the reception area. As for our narrow staircases they are the average size for a house - which... More

I made a late booking direct with the hotel. The rate was very good and the hotel was well located. No parking on the premises but just across the road, so all good. I received a warm welcome from the owners. The room was spotlessly clean, the breakfast hit the spot and I slept well. All in all very good.... More

Was a bit wary when stepped inside the inn/hotel - it smelt musty and of stale beer BUT the room was spotless, as was the en-suite. I would assume it was newly refurbished. The bed was comfortable and the décor and furnishings were very good. The corridor to the rooms is winding as you would expect with a very old... More

Stayed for one night, in Room 11, at the end of June 2014. Visitors have to accept the Smuggler's Haunt for what it is - an old, character pub with budget rooms at the top of narrow stairs. I was travelling on business and my firm booked low cost accommodation. It did the job and I don't have any complaints,... More

Only stayed one night (room 14). Good value - great cooked breakfast. Warning - Do not book if you can not manage small steep staircase but it is an old building after all. Very comfortable bed lovely large clean bathroom with big bath. Noisy only due to sound of church clock & traffic. Would of liked more milk in the... More

We spent 3 nights in the Smugglers Haunt and thoroughly enjoyed it. The building is old so you have to appreciate and accept creaky floors and wobbly furniture. However, there isn't really an excuse for laying a cheap carpet on top of another (!). The carpet in room 2 has 'walked' across the room ! There is a 2 inch... More

It was our first time in Brixham and we were delighted to find the Smugglers Haunt Hotel. It's quainteness was wonderful, the staff most welcoming and the food was extremely enjoyable and reasonably priced. Thank you for your hospitality. we were not staying at the venue but spent two lovely evenings, meeting and making friends. Would recommend.
