Booked directly via the phone. First went with my parents in the early 1970s. Hotel is ideally located for public transport users .Nearest station Paignton. Out of the station 200 yards the local Stagecoach Bus to Brixham. Bus stop 200 yards from hotel. John and Jean the proprietors are most helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Pia who helps... I stayed here in May for the Bank Holiday and we loved it. The couple who run the hotel were warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The Room was clean, breakfast was lovely - we would stay again.

Thanks for your comments, they are much appreciated especially today when it is easy to criticize. We are only a small accommodation provider so your comments make the world of difference to us. You are very welcome to come again. More

Do not be fooled by the name, I have now stayed here 3 times and have not encountered any ghosts! This time I had a very warm welcome from John & Jean and loved my cosy room. [Number 11] this is a very old fashioned, creaky hotel with beamed ceilings, grandfather clocks and old paintings of Brixham. I stayed for... More

Great service. Booked last minute and glad we did. Full of character inside and a really nice huge breakfast. Parking is limited nearby but you're right by the seafront so easy to find a space. Cosy rooms really nice and you can almost imagine the characters from bygone years as you walk through the narrow winding passage to your room.

This is a very nice B&B and the owners are very friendly. Rooms are good and clean, Breakfast is typical Full English. The only downside is that the Bar and Restaurant are now closed as the owners are hoping to retire soon and i feel this takes away from the atmosphere of the 'haunted' hotel.

Today I went to the Smugglers Haunt Hotel for Sunday Lunch and I must say it was really really lovely, When I was walking up to get my meal I was told someone would be along to help me carry my meal back to the table, as I was walking with a stick, in the the years I've used a... More

Stayed the weekend with some friends. The service was superb, we were greeted immediately and taken to our rooms. The rooms were very clean, comfortable with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits which is topped up daily. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and service was very friendly and efficient. They give you a fob so you can come and go... More

We were very comfortable in this hotel where we stayed for three nights. Our room was clean and we had everything we needed. A problem with the shower was dealt with immediately. At breakfast would have loved to have some fresh fruit offered and it would have been nice to have orange juice AND cereal rather than one or the... More
