Stayed for 1 night here for business. Located well in the country so be prepared for no reception on your phone and hotel broadband that is flakey at best. Rooms are quite dated and their was a musky smell in the room. In my kindness I accepted a room with a dripping toilet, not the best idea but survived. To... More

Stayed here on a groupon deal but have to say we would be willing to pay full price - it's just a real gem. Fabulous location on the Exe Valley way if you enjoy walking and two fabulous pubs close enough to walk to (I preferred Fisherman's Cot - husband preferred The Trout) so take your pick - both excellent... We stayed at this location on a Groupon deal - as had everyone else. The castle (yes there is a real castle its not just a name) was set away from the main roads in a remote location and is mainly a wedding venue. The accommodation is in the mainly 16th/17th century buildings in the grounds around the castle. Our... More

You cant fault this place for its beauty and location, wonderful views and although out of town, within walking distance of local eateries. Very pleasant hosts. The room we had, although small, was tastefully decorated, modern and very clean. Breakfast .... Now that was the downfall. It was included but it was continental and if you wanted a full English... I booked the "weekend" break for the wife and I. I looked at the normal rooms, then decided to go for the Tudor Suite for a treat. Well what a treat. We felt like royalty, a 15th century bed 4 posted bed, a roll top bath, private space included the great hall, and could climb the tower and look out... More

We had booked a superior room which was a lovely room however there were minor housekeeping issues exampled by a sweet found under a shelving unit and the bottom of the sink base need a wipe over. One or two of the exposed beams had cobwebs which detracted a little from the overall effect of a lovely room. The shower... More

Just return from few days away at bickleigh castle, what can I say great place for a wedding. Place looks great from outside, didn't have chance for tour as were to busy but I'm told from other guests we spoke to it is rather impressive. Room was ok bit small but when all you are doing is sleeping what else... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights at Bickleigh Castle. We drove down from West Yorkshire and were quite tired when we arrived. We were made very welcome by John and shown to our room which was ready for us even though we'd arrived before normal check in time. The en-suite room was on the upper floor in the... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the setting is beautiful and it makes a change to have a standard room with a view! We opted for the cooked breakfast which was extra but the complimentary continental breakfast was very good, which included fresh fruit and croissants. Our stay included a tour of the castle which we found very interesting. The... More

Bickleigh Castle is an exceptionally special place run by cheerful staff who obviously enjoy working there. When checking in at 3pm we were given a friendly welcome by Sarah and when departing she enquired if everything had been alright and had we enjoyed at stay. Our bed was comfortable. The room quiet, spacious, and attractive. Bath robes were loaned to... More
