Looking for a B&B a bit out of the ordinary? Then look for further. Bickleigh Castle is steeped in history and you get to hear all about it on the castle tour which is included in the price. We had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard that was clean and spacious. We were fortunate to get our three night stay... More

After a terrible journey from Chippenham taking over 3 hours we received a lovely warm welcome. Our room in the Moat House was spacious with an en suite complete with bath and fluffy towels. There was a wide choice at breakfast, however be aware that anything above the continental breakfast costs extra and you are likely to share a table... More

My wife and I have just come back from a two night stay at Bickleigh and it was wonderful. We went there on our anniversary and it has to be said that John and all the staff made our anniversary special. The room was really nice and the breakfast (I had the full English for £5 extra, worth every penny)... More

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in a lovely spot 4 miles from Tiverton. Bickleigh castle is a wonderful place in a little valley with a real sense of being away from it all. We had a small room in the Moat House but had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious, and cooked to order but... More

My Husband and I have just got back after staying at Bickleigh Castle for the weekend. We are fairly well travelled and cannot fault this little gem at all. We stayed in the castle building itself and it was like walking back in time (but with the mod cons of hot water, heating, electric etc). The decor was spot on... More

My daughter held her wedding ceremony and reception here. All rooms were taken for Friday and Saturday by wedding guests. It was superb. Apart from one plumbing problem in one of the rooms, for which charges were waived by way of apology, it was faultless. Nothing was too much trouble, and whatever specific requirements were made were accommodated.. The place... More

A two night break was purchased based on research, primarily from reading reviews and checking the Bickleigh Castle Web Site Our first impressions were mixed, certainly the place has significant character, but the property fixtures and fittings are looking tired, but perhaps on a sunny day this would not be so apparent. The room allocated was small to say the... More

Thanks for your review. We have big rooms and small, and they are graded, so you can opt for bigger ('superior') when you book, at just an extra £10 per night. If it is not offered when you phone, it is worth asking. We offer a large estate and the Castle tour mentioned is included in what is paid; for... More

My wife and I stayed at Bickleigh Castle for 3 nights in February 2015. the Castle is well signposted from the main road, and is in a lovely setting on the banks of the River Exe. We had a room in Rose Cottage, and were happy with most aspects of it - the bed was hard, which was not to... More
