Four days away at The Fisherman's Cot. Amazing location and very friendly service. Our rooms were a good standard ( a double and a twin ) and the food was good value for money. Went. with my children and their Grandma who all welcomed the smaller portion option on the menu. A great choice of breakfast with very prompt service.... More

What a find.. we found this hotel on haunted hotels we had a view flashing lights but thats all. Room was lovely and clean would of given 5stars but there was a damp smell, it is right next to the river so expected it really. Staff very helpful food is good pub grub. The breakfast kept us going all day... More

Stayed the night after visiting NT Knights Hayes Court. Setting perfect. In room 11, right in thatch, warm but ok with windows open, room full of character! Big diagonal beam needs to be remembered after " lights out ". In general room furnished ok but could not work out why BBC1 needed a pin code to access. Pub grub+ and... More

I liked it much better this time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens and plants looked cared for and of course, The Cott has location in spades. If you wish to take a break and enjoy a drink, this riverside pub will please. If you wish to eat then the menu seems to be well thought out and... More

Stayed 3 nights in this Marstons pub/hotel the staff were great young local people doing a good job.The location on the river Exe with the weir almost in the back garden cannot be beaten. The thatched roof and mainly wooden buildings over a very large site with plenty of car park space probably make this place one of the best Marstons... Had a two night stay and it up to the usual Marston's standard. Room, spotless, staff very good and the food was typical pub grub. Which was exactly what we were expecting. Lovely setting. Good base for visiting Torquay etc.

Since we last visited here, they have made changes for the better, it is now lighter inside as they have fitted large windows in place of the french windows, after having a lovely carvery inside we decided to go and sit in the garden to have our deserts, a worthwhile decision as my husband decided to take advantage of the... I met a friend here today and it was a lovely sunny day, and the pub was busy, lots of parking and ample tables for seating outside and indoors, a good carvery and menu selection. I am going to return even though its a 40 miles aways from me! it also has a 5 star food hygiene rating which is... More

Good food, good prices, idyllic setting - we didn't stay here, but we did stay around 20 minutes away and still travelled to this lovely place just to sit by the river and eat and enjoy time with our family. They could do with offering a few more different desserts as that menu was very limited. The Cot Gourmet burger... More

Reputed to be the inspiration for Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge over troubled Waters, this is a delightful setting for a real English pub serving real ale, good food and a fine wine cellar. We stayed in the Lodge section, adjacent to the main building, and it was roomy with an ensuite, and a private patio. The settee was a little... More
