We have stayed in this hotel twice. Once in 2009 and 2010. There is nothing fancy about the place but it is closer to nature.(big rooms and clean rooms though, toilets could be better though).i often find it so soothing and relaxing to sleep with windows open cus it's facing the sea.(we always asked for the Seaview room on the... We were lucky enough to pick a night when there was a band in the public bar - brilliant atmosphere. A really nice touch is where they bring out (free) sandwiches and hot snacks. Its just like a pub should be, friendly and comfortable, not antisceptic like a cocktail bar or wine bar. The food in the restaurant is terrific... More

Just returned after 6 nights at the Imperial Hotel. A very comfortable friendly Hotel offering excellent facilities and superb food. The atmosphere is very low key and casual but the service is second to none. The owners, Sabrina and Gavin make you feel at home from your first step across the threshold and cannot be faulted for their friendly and... More

The Imperial is located in a wonderful setting with fantastic views and perfect dog walking just on its door steps, this is where the positives finish. We can tolerate slow service and shabby decor to enjoy the view, however during a recent visit we did not expect this enjoyment to be ruined by what can only be described as intimidating... More

An excellent location, quiet and close to the sea. Food was first class, no pretentious names on the menu and generous amounts at good prices. The room was spacious, bright, clean and well situated. The hotel could do with some updating, when walking in for the first time it will look very familiar to those of us of a certain... More

Enjoyed a short break here, gorgeous sea views and location for walks both along the sandy beaches and inland and bus rides round the island from just outside the hotel. Also close to Fort Grey museum which is worth a look, particularily after 4pm when the admission fee drops to £1. We found the hotel to be friendly - the... More

Like most pubs in Guernsey, went for a meal only to be told that no kids were allowed in the bar area. Now in England this was the case 20 years ago but obviously nothing has changed in Guernsey. I could understand if this was a pub or a club but this is a hotel, common feeling is that children... More

Fantastic location with stunning views over the bay, the attitude of some of the staff let in down, however there was some friendly staff and the food good, but more choice on the breakfast menu would not go amiss. The room (2) was in need of an update, as the furniture was well past its sell by date as was... More

Excellent situation with stunning views, ideal for the dogs. However this is a basic 2 star hotel. We were offered room 5 which was miniscule with poor cheap, old furniture and very shabby shower room. We refused and were given room 7. Much more room. Even so neither room looked like the ones portrayed on the website. That said the... More

No doubt about it, the location is excellent. Never had a problem parking at the hotel. The restaurant and service were good as was the bar. Staff seemed friendly enough when available. But the room, 6B at the top of the building was very disappointing. Obviously not had any kind of makeover yet, certainly isn't anywhere near to the standard... More
