We stayed at the Hotel in early June, as part of our first trip to Guernsey. The hotel arranged the whole booking, including the ferry and managed to get us a discount. We requested adjacent rooms and were given them, overlooking the garden and all went right with the bookings and our requests. The rooms were well decorated and clean... more

First of all, I must say that our stay was purchased as part of deal so we got a good price. However, that reduced price we paid probably reflects a fair amount for the overall experience. My overall impression is that the hotel has a regular base of customers in their 50s - 60s who like the traditional atmosphere. The... more

My girlfriend and I visited Le Friquet when visiting for a friends wedding. The first thing we noticed was that the hotel is really in the middle of the island and not near the beaches or the town, a couple of minutes walk do get you to an infrequent bus service, however expensive taxi fares were required if you are... more

We only went for a short break and were attracted by an ad we saw featuring a Seafood platter as part of the package. We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay. Guernsey is a very interesting place with plenty to see and do. We travel a lot and mainly in Large corporate type of Hotels. This is a small... more

Why do people work in hospitality if they are not hospitable?! The reception staff at this place takes my prize for the most miserable I've ever had the misfortune to be 'served' by. What price a smile, guys? Or how about a few cheery words when we book in or out? We stayed for 3 nights in the conservatory room... more

We've just spent 3 glorious days in Guernsey, staying at Le Friquet Country Hotel. The food was fantastic and couldn't be faulted, the rooms were modern, with lovely fresh flowers in the rooms. Ample parking spaces, and beautiful gardens and pool. BOOKING FOR NEXT YEAR TOMORROW!! more

The hotel is set in a lovely garden. The pool looks very nice. There is a big carpark. The rooms are clean , nicely decorated and equiped. The restaurant serves lovely food. Checking out time is a bit early 10.00. Unfortunately Sbrina our favourite member of staff has left. There is quite a stropy member of staff in the bar... more

I have now stayed at Le Friquet three times, ranging from two nights to eight nights, (although so far only in Winter, so haven't been able to take advantage of the lovely gardens and pool) and have always found the staff and the service very good. Agreed there is no lift, but if you have a problem with carrying luggage up... more

Average despite current 3 star rating reminded us of a nursing home as majority of guests were elderly and struggling to negotiate winding stairs up to first floor and attic rooms. To be a serious contender as a credible hotel they should invest in a lift! Room was OK - decor dated (as rest of hotel) but had a new... more

I stayed here in winter 2006. I had a single room on the ground floor. Contrary to some of the other rooms (judging by reviews), my room was newly decorated. The bathroom was brand new. The room was small but comfortable and adequate for a solo traveller. Dinner was pretty disappointing, especially with smoke drifting across into the dining area... more
