We went to a birthday party at this hotel and decided to stay overnight - the rate offered was very good and probably around the same price as a taxi - it was nice just to fall upstairs and then have breakfast the next morning - which was very good - would definitely stay here again

We spent a week staying at the Mayfair Hotel. We chose this hotel as they offer Junior Suites which are bigger than a standard family room. The room was great for us, very spacious with a huge bed and a sofa bed with pull-out for the kids. There were 2 TV's in the room and an alarm clock with ipod... More

The hotel itself was nice, very clean and comfortable furniture. The staff are friendly and helpful but seem to be doing to much at one time. There was a lot of space in the reception rooms, and you are able to get free wi-fi which you are not able to get in the bedrooms. The bedrooms we stayed in were... More

Positive remark - it’s clean. Well, it’s to be expected, but had to find something positive to say :) Reception Unprofessional, provide different information depends who you talk to. Promise to handle issues just to get you off the line – 2 days later until my checkout time, I was still waiting for someone to check the Internet (they claimed... More

Hotel is central within walking distance for shops, park and sea front. On main bus route for zoo etc. Hotel staff booked all our trips for us. Food and service great. Entertainment every night. Rooms really hot and stuffy even with windows open although fans were available. Rooms cleaned everyday, staff really nice. Sun terrace was great although there is... More

We stayed a week at this hotel and thought it was excellent. It has spacious bright public rooms. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. One of my party was wheelchair bound and we found it very easy to move around the hotel and get to our rooms. We found the restaurant to be fantastic. there was a good selection... More

I have Just returned from a week staying at the Mayfair. Frankly I cannot fault it - Spotlessly clean , with attentive , friendly staff through out the hotel. Wonderful breakfast ( the best porridge ever!) and enjoyable dinner menu every evening. I am 88 years old and have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world over... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in Suite 7 with two of our children. First impression not good - the smoking area outside the front door and the cloud of fumes we had to breathe in to enter the hotel. Why oh why in this day and age do they have a smoking area?!? Plus-points: Staff friendly and helpful enough, facilities... More

First impressions were good modern public areas and staff eager to engage and help. They printed some boarding passes for us with a minimum of fuss and no charge. We had a three bed 'family' room which was hot and cramped, but a fan was quickly supplied upon request. Food is perfectly acceptable for a 3 star hotel, but service... More

The hotel was very good and accomodating as the first room we had was on the second floor but we upgraded to a suite at a negotiated rate . The breakfast staff were a little short as we turned up two minutes early and was told to wait. The guy at the desk Danny was really helpful and we even... More
