The staff were helpful, if a little over attentive at breakfast. There was a sign that states you can’t take any food away to be eaten later - who would ever do that, that’s stealing! Hotel was clean but looks not to have had any money spent on it since the 70s. Room complete with no air con (would have... More

Returned back from Apollo on 25th July! Family holiday of four adults and 10 year old boy. Well what can i say but a very genuine & honest review. WHAT ARE PEOPLE MOANING ABOUT. Yes I agree in some parts hotel old & dated but what is the problem. Everything else faultless. All the staff are excellent and very friendly... More

Having had the day I have had. I was looking forward to bringing my young family to what I found on the internet to be a lovely looking hotel. Upon entry through a very tired reception area, I went into the lift and was treated to a jumpy halting ride up 3 floors. Knowing we have a 2 year old... More

Wife and I stayed her for 3 nights. We asked for a smoking room, and despite review saying there were none, we were allocated room 130, which they said we could smoke in. No ashtray but one was provided when we asked. I suspect we were allowed to some to keep us quiet about he points and poor quality of... More

Food at the hotel restaurant is very good, excellent staff, very attentive. Room - average for the price, noisy pipework, extraction fan in bathroom worked intermittantly, bedside telephone faulty. Pillows - strong BO smell, had to spray perfume to mask the smell so I can sleep. Could do with brand new pillows or spray with Fabreeze.

The Hotel itself is a bit tired and in need of a bit of refurbishment, plus the rooms can be quite warm, but the staff are very friendly & helpful which makes up for the lack of gloss. Its location is ideal being only a few minutes walk to the town centre shops and indoor market. Paul and his team... More

Stayed here with my husband for 2 nights. Room number 229, which meant we had to walk through the indoor pool area to get to our rooms. The stench from the overuse of chlorine for the pool was sickening. The lift up to the rooms was so small, only two people max, could fit in it, or one larger person... More

We had rooms overlooking the road and I can say the noise was terrible. We closed the windows on arrival even though the heat was unbearable (no air con), but the noise was still as bad. Saturday night we went with little or no sleep. So do ask for a room over looking the garden area. Rooms our small, but... More

This is the third time I have stayed at the Apollo and will probably be my last! The hotel was far from full, in fact it seemed very quiet for the time of year. Despite this I was given a tiny room at the front of the hotel, which was so noisy I hardly slept all night! Public areas are... More

We decided to try the Channel Islands for a weeks holiday this year after seeing several hotels online we booked at the Apollo. On our arrival we were met by excellent staff who were friendly and most helpful, our cases were taken up to our room which was nice but perhaps somewhat dated. The bathroom certainly could do with updating... More
