The hotel made all of our reservations for us, flights and car hire, and everything was exactly as they had promised. From the moment we entered the hotel we knew that we had found something special. The foyer was beautifully decorated for Christmas, we were welcomed immediately and shown into a beautiful lounge, where we were offered a welcome drink... more

We have been regular guests at Chateau La Chaire since our son wished to celebrate his 21st birthday at the hotel some 6 years ago. We have stayed at other hotels on the island (namely Hotel de France, The Radisson SAS, Le Charriers, and a couple of others which are possibly not even worthy of a mention, but as we... more

Rooms were cosy and welcoming, and the decor was excellent. Bed was really comfy and all amenities were provided, even turned down the bed for us in the evening. Loved the chocolate on the pillow, but due to the fantastic meals in the restaurant we never ate them. Best bathroom we have ever had in a hotel room, provision of... more

I have stayed in Jersey for the first time and here for 2 nights. I ended up having my worst nightmare! What happened was that I found their high-tech shower broken after I became naked to take a shower. I pushed the shower button a hundred times hoping it would switch on to no avail. After 15 minutes or so... more

Despite recognising that this client was not satisfied with their stay it is unfortunate that this appears a rather unfair review of their situation. The client reported a broken shower to the assistant manager, not myself as claimed, during the morning and despite what may have appeared lighthearted with a 'wink' I'm sure it wasn't an intentional effort to dismiis...

Once the best hotel in Jersey, in our opinion, now looking very tired and in need of a make over. While other hotels have really improved (The Grand) this one is very disappointing if you expect things to be clean and working. We booked their best available suite and had to change rooms as the room was not what you... more

The hotel is inspected and highly rated by the same professional bodies it always has. We hold AA Red Stars as an 'Inspectors Choice' hotel and maintain listings with Johansens and Britains Finest. These rating along with over 60% of our business being repeat lead us to beleive that we still are one of the best in the island. The...

Very disappointed with our stay,ok the location is pleasant etc but for the money we paid there are better hotels with proper facilities. There is no pool,no sun loungers, very small area where seats and tables are,so a let down really. The gardens are only suitable for hikers as they are on steep terraces and not really cared for - just abandoned and... more

Management response from

It seems that this hotel was simply a poor choice by the customers concerned. All the available facilities and amenities are listed within our website and other advertising means so it is rather unfortunate to receive an average review for lack of facilites. The clients refer to gardens but this is listed online as terraced woodland. The small area outside...

We have nothing but praise for this hotel, the staff , management ,service and food. We have been going here for over ten years and the two managers in this time have been top class in their professionalism, courtesy and attention to detail. If your looking for a hotel in the Agatha Christie mould then this is the place. Quiet,... more

Booked a table here in the restaurant as a birthday surprise for my fiance - I really wanted to surprise him with an all-out luxury meal. And we definitely got that. We went for the menu du jour and I have to say it was absolutely excellent. The food was cooked to perfection, there were no mistakes with orders, service... more

This hotel is situated on a quieter side of the island and is set in beautiful surroundings. It's close to the sea and there are several restaurants that are close by that are fantastic. We loved the outside seating area and the complimentary afternoon tea was very welcome! Loved the bar lounge area and the barman at the time made... more
