The food served was barely adequate. Everything given was at the bare minimum level. Starter was just orange juice or soup every night. meat was boil in a bag quality e.g. if menu said pork it wasnt a pork chop or similar, it was razor thin like you'd get in a sandwich. You weren't given a bread roll with soup... more

We have been going to the Runnymede for the last 5 years and have always had a most enjoyable week. In comparison to the other hotels in St. Helier we feel the Runnymede is very good value for money, particularly if you are over the age of fifty or thereabouts. The food is well prepared and adequate but with no... more

This hotel is in a centrally located position for town and beach. Unfortunately it does not have its own car park, but there are 2 public car parks nearby. These are paid via a book of tickets purchased locally. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Our room was a good size with plenty of hanging space and drawers. The bathroom... more

Spent a week here in mid August. We did ask for a quiet hotel, but this was a bit much. Definitely targets the Elderly / people with ill health. What appears to be regimented is I think excessive care. You are shown your table so that no fighting breaks out - "that's my table, I have sat there for the... more

My husband and I stayed here last year for the first time and liked it so much we decided to return. We had a lovely holiday both times and would go back again. Mary, the Manageress and the owner were both friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Our meals were filling and well cooked. The rooms were... more

Hotel is run in a regimented fashion. Food is mostly canned and certainly rationed. Even the mint sauce is measured and put on your plate.Cheese and biscuits are held out at the table by the waitress and you must be quick or it disappears in seconds. You dare not do an Oliver Twist in this place! Not once was the Central heating... more

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this 2 star hotel. It is at the top end of the 2 star rating. Mary, who seems to run everything at this hotel is extremley helpful and goes the extra mile. The owner of the hotel also is very welcoming and has a chat with all guests. Reception, dining... more
