Fairly friendly. The owner was extremely helpful. Restaurant staff did not seem 'with it'. Breakfast menu showed Jersey yoghurt but they only had Muller the 1st morning which the waiter insisted was Jersey! The evening meals were ok but probably spoilt by being Tennerfest. Room was comfortable but our room cleaner obviously didn't like replacing the hot chocolate or tea!

A reasonably priced hotel with cheerful staff. Bedroom clean and comfortable with excellent sea view. Bathroom was spotless and cleaned properly daily. The evening 3 course meal offered a reasonable range of choices and two of our main courses were superb. Not a family hotel in my opinion but for for the 50+ and excellent base to explore this wonderful... More

If you're looking for a small hotel with very friendly, helpful staff, where nothing is too much trouble, combined with the fact that the beach is just a few steps away - then The Shakespeare fits the bill. I stayed last year and have just been back for another week. There is always plenty of parking and I love the... More

Tired hotel, needs updating, 1st night went to restaurant for dinner dressed in shorts and was informed by the waiter that we have a dress code no shorts, went and put on some trousers returned to restaurant to find 3 other gentlemen sat having dinner in shorts!! Shower was only Luke warm and had no water pressure.

Fortunately, the positive aspects outweighed the negative findings at the Shakespeare Hotel. Our first negative experience was on arrival when we discovered that our booking for a twin room was changed to a family room. The young lady receptionist did not appreciate our preference and argued that this was superior to the twin room that was in use by guests... More

Ate Sunday Lunch here while on holiday in Jersey. The roast beef was delicious, vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff were efficient at serving us drinks and clearing plates. After our lunch we sat on the sun terrace which had wonderful views of the beach / sea. Well worth eating here.

Ate here one evening while visiting jersey with some friends. The food and choice available was excellent staff in the bar and restaurant were very helpful and friendly. The price was very reasonable and the views out to sea perfect. We highly recommend.

I've stayed here once before, but having not been to Jersey for a few years the deficiencies have faded with time. Firstly the price is far to high for the quality of sleep you receive. The walls are paper thin and the hotel is frequented by the more mature couples that have a habit of yelling at each other whilst... More

We were so glad we chose the Shakespeare, and I have given it five stars because we received such a friendly welcome and were looked after so well. It's true that the hotel is fairly old but this adds to its charm and the rooms we and our friends had were recently refurbished. There were lovely sea views. A nice... More
