Beautiful location, beautiful grounds ,gardens and pool area, generally in good condition some furniture in public areas dated and ready for replacement. Bar very good but very expensive, in the main food good , majority of staff on the ball, too many eastern Europeans who are polite and pleasant but don't understand service levels. Tinned grapefruit in a four star ?... More

If there is one thing you must do in your life time it is to stay and dine at the Somerville. I have never encountered such wonderful attentive staff anywhere else in the UK or abroad. We were staying for 1week B & B but was offered a half board dinner deal which we took up. On reflection we shouldn't... More

What a wonderful hotel ! Cannot rate it highly enough. Staff were welcoming, friendly and very attentive. We had a Garden Room which was especially spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and had separate shower and bath. A big plus was the full sized fridge where we stocked our own cheeses, salad and cold drinks. Sitting out in... More

had 4 nights from 7th July at the Hotel - we arrived at 9am in the morning and the rec team managed to get our room ready by 10am which was fantastic! Fantastic location 5* in fact and wonderful staff in all areas! drank some amazing cocktails on the terrace each day and the weather was out of this world!... More

We have just returned from a fabulous week spent at the Somerville. It was our first visit, but it certainly won't be our last. From the location, the view the accommodation and the staff, who without exception, we're polite, friendly and very attentive, without being intrusive, we loved our time here. We have previously stayed in St Helier, but much... More

Think I'll get rid of the negatives first. Our room ( 3rd floor ) was well appointed, flat screen tv, large bed, lovely view, but lacked air con therefore we struggled to get a good night's sleep even with the windows wide open. The bathroom's ok, but with the shower being over the rather high sided bath, it was a... More

This could be a really good hotel but unfortunately is run for the convenience of the managment and staff and not for the guests who are clearly a bit of an inconvenience. Nowhere is this more starkly shown than at breakfast - the hotel has a beautiful terrace but guests are forbidden to eat outside because of, wait for it,... More

Thank you for your interesting review, as we say, all comments are welcome. Forgive me if we may have to agree to disagree on this occasion. I’m sorry that you felt it more appropriate to make such a review this way and to not comment “facing” myself as we did upon your checking out of the hotel (at such time... More

I had booked into Hotel Cristina for a mini break in April, unfortunately the hotel was still being refurbished so I was allocated a room at the Somerville.. Extremely nice location, a bit steep on the ground for me!. Gardens are beautiful. Food is excellent but the beer is pricey !!! Too much going on in the restaurant for me... More

Many thanks for your review of 2 of the Dolan Hotels, the Cristina Hotel and the Somerville hotel. These two and indeed the third hotel in the group (Golden Sands Hotel) are all equally blessed with stunning views across 2 of the most beautiful bays in Jersey; St Aubin and St Brelades. The view for the air show in September... More
