When we began planning our trip to Ireland, Avoca was a must, having only recently found BBCs Ballykissangel. We found Ashdene through TripAdvisor, and were not disappointed. Mervyn and Jackie were very easy to work with to set things up, and when we arrived, were greeted with a lovely little B&B less than a mile from the little village of... more
Best B and B in Ireland for us was ASHDENE in AVOCA(Ballykissangel). Not only was it lovely but Jackie Burns treated us really special. She welcomed us with coffee and cakes upon arrival and even brought us coffee outside on the front porch in the morning before breakfast. Furnishings were pristine as was landscaping. Jackie also was very engaging in her... more
During our recent road trip of Ireland we stayed with Jackie at Ashdene. A real gem we were welcomed with tea and biscuuits before we headed out to explore the local town of Avoca. Avoca mill is great (lovely shop and cafe with wholesome food) and it was cool to see the exterior of Fitzgeralds pub as seen in Ballykissangel.... more
This place was very nice.... quiet and tucked away. The place was clean and neat and had a nice garden outside to sit in. The town of Avoca was very nice, and all the people were very friendly and helpful. Our room was tidy and we had our own bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, except that there were ants crawling all... more

This was the last B and B on our trip and by far was the best. My wife and I have never been to Ireland and have never had the B and B experience before. We found it to be fun and exciting. Ashdene is in one of the most beautiful parts of the country on a quiet, peaceful road... more
As far as I rememer, I couldn't find anything particularly interesting about this accommodation. Normal room with your typical irish carpet. The bathroom wasn't too spacious. This place is kinda in the middle of the wild, so expect a few spiders and other insects crawling around. Nothing special but not a bad choice. more
A veritable jewel of a bed and breakfast. During our extensive travels on both business and leisure we have had the occassion to stay in many bed and breakfast establishments over many years. We feel we can confidently say that Ashdene Country Home is simply one of the best places we have stayed at. The cleanliness of the rooms and... more
Hard to fault this delightful B&B in one of Ireland's prettiest towns. Very friendly service, comfortable bed, spotless rooms and one of the best cooked breakfasts, complete with homemade bread, I've tasted. Thoroughly recommended. more
