My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Shane and Catriona and really can only echo the other rave reviews. From the warm welcome on our arrival, (complete with tea and home-made baked goodies), through to the fantastic dinner at the restaurant kindly recommended by Shane, a great nights sleep in our spotless and comfortable room, the shower in... Shane and Catriona are wonderful hosts and provide all the information you need to make the most of your stay. The field at the back of the house and view of the river is beautiful and this is a perfect location for exploring the area. I was unfortunately unwell when I arrived and Catriona was so kind in trying to... More

We loved our stay at Ashton House. Shane & Catriona were very welcoming with tea and cakes and provided plenty of information on the area and places to eat. A very nicely presented B & B in a beautiful location.

Our second stay at Ashton House and it's just the same! It's the same wonderful Irish welcome, with the same "Mum's" delicious cakes, the same comfortable room with plenty of sockets and Sky television, the same fantastic breakfast, the same idyllic location, and same two lovely Irish people providing you with a great stay at Ashton House. The Vale of... More

Very easy to book and lovely warm welcome with homemade cake and pot of tea. Shane and Catriona are simply brilliant hosts who give you enough of your 'own time' but also really help with your stay and suggestions. We stayed for 2 nights - great size rooms and great shower. 100% spotless throughout - and each afternoon when we... More

Hard to fault this really excellent B+B run by Catriona and Shane. Great welcome, smart, comfortable rooms, full breakfast with homemade relish and jams, view of the river and ducks marching up for breakfast, with the ponies and foal nearby, lovely location. Nothing too much trouble. Evening meal in pub in Rathdrum, 10 minutes away. Wish we could have stayed... More

Ashton House is family owned and run by a lovely couple who will do everything they can to make your stay wonderful, starting with tea (or coffee) and homemade pastries. They carry your bags upstairs to beautifully decorated, and very private, rooms. The view from ours was one of two rivers that converge nearby. The showers have plenty of hot... More

We stayed in the Ashton House as the first stay in our Ireland holiday trip. It was a very good choice. We were welcomed by a good cup of tea/coffee and delicious cake/discuits upon arrival. THe room was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was amazing and the surrounding was beautiful. It is a good value for money. Would love... More

This b&b gives the customer all what a b&b is expected to give plus some more. A lot of more. It starts with the beautiful surroundings accompanied by a peaceful stream and neighborly ducks. It continues with afternoon tea and biscuits (homemade of course), it continues some more with the room and great breakfast, and on top of it all... More
