Reception goes off at five and any communication can often be more than 24 hours before an E-mail reply comes. Reception as mentioned goes off at five and and queries or whatever has to wait until the next morning unless you wish to risk asking other staff who honestly say they don't really know! The hotel have resident dogs and... More

We booked a one night mid week offer . We had called into Marlfield on a previous trip and enjoyed afternoon tea in the library . Our room was at the front of the building on the top floor(two flights of stairs) overlooking the entrance and was quiet and comfortable, nicely furnished with a separate seating area and a small... Recently stayed in this wonderful (seldom found Family run) Lavish Country House Style Hotel which in my opinion provides a Five Star service throughout. The attention to detail within the spacious bedrooms is a good as it gets. My traveling companions and myself enjoyed dinner in the luxurious Palladian Style Restaurant with Heavenly garden views, the food was just wonderful... More

We had an absolutely perfect one night stay at the Marlfield House Hotel this July. Had we known how much we were going to enjoy it, we would have shortened our stays at other locations and treated ourselves to more nights. Unfortunately for us, there was a wedding the next day, so there were no rooms available. The grounds are... More

On some ways, our stay at Marlfield was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and our room was nicely furnished and comfortable. We also had some very nice meals including breakfast during our stay. There are a few things that bothered me. They served breakfast between 8 and 10am but the staff came around after dinner asking... More

We decided to stop off for afternoon tea at this hotel which had heard of but never visited. The experience was very pleasant and the surroundings were wonderful. The afternoon tea was more than adequate and not overpriced. It was a sunny day, so we had a walk in the lovely gardens and surrounding area. The hotel itself had a... More

I stayed in this hotel with my wife for out 1st anniversary. The total cost of our night in the hotel was €500 for one night (included dinner & breakfast) pretty steep but i was really looking forward to it as it looked great in the photos. I was very disappointed with the hotel. I was expecting excellent service as... More

I had meant for many years to try out Marlfield house in Gorey. Our 10th anniversary was the excuse for an overnight treat and we had a blue book voucher so we agreed to try Marlfield. We stayed only one night, Thursday the 26th of June and were in one of only 7 rooms booked that night. Reception was very... More

Marlfield is beautiful. The gardens are immaculate and I loved the walk through the woods with some enormous hardwoods. My bedroom was huge, extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated. Service is impeccable, the food staggeringly good and the interiors light, airy and full of superb art. I didn't want to leave. Some reviewers have commented on the price. No it is... More
