What a treat to stay in the Bansha Castle! Absolutely delightful!! We had 15 people and were very comfortable. You can be as together as you want to be or spread out. It is so quiet and peaceful. Day trips are in no short supply from this region in Ireland. John and Teresa are most helpful and gracious host.

We recently spent a week at Bansha Castle in July 2015 with 15 friends and family members. This is a great location for touring many areas of Ireland. This is a perfectly modern castle with all the amenities. Teresa and John Russell are gracious hosts. One can pay extra for them to prepare meals...such a treat. They also have wonderful resources... Peace and Quiet at it's best!! John and Theresa were the best possible hosts that you could find in all of Ireland. Best accommodations that you will find for small groups anywhere, hands down! With fifteen of us staying under the same roof, we expected to have some snags, but there was not any. You will not go wrong renting... More

We spent a week at Bansha Castle in July, 2015. There were 15 of us and our stay was wonderful. John and Teresa Russell are splendid host and our stay was everything we hoped for and more. The village of Bansha is charming and we especially liked walking to Nellie's pub for a late afternoon refreshment . John and Theresa... More

17 friends spent a week here and we used it as our "home base" while making day trips to Kilkenny, Cliffs if Moher, Blarney, etc. John and Teresa are the most accommodating hosts. We paid extra to have their full breakfast everyday and they were flexible with times (some days we had breakfast at 7am, others at 9am). We also... More

Bansha has the perfect set up for a group of friends, family reunion or for a college student participating in a study abroad program. Each bedroom had it's own private bath (one was directly across the hall). The rooms were private, beds comfortable, views amazing, and everything spotless. For a historic castle, the plumbing and appliances were modern! I had... More

We just returned from a week at Bansha Castle. We hired the services of Dr Tim White, Xavier University, to lead day tours around Ireland. Between his expertise and the warmth of our host and hostess at Bansha Castle, John and Theresa Russell, I cannot more highly recommend a family gathering location than this. Our side of the castle was... More

Our daughter stayed at the Bansha Castle in 2012 while studying abroad with Dr Tim White from Xavier University. She was so impressed with the castle owners John and Teresa as well as the local Bansha residents that she highly recommended we return as a family and experience Ireland and especially Bansha. This May that dream came true. 13 family... More

Just returned from spending a long weekend in Bansha Castle, and already thinking about when we can return. Everything was perfect except the weather, but can't blame anybody for that! Standout points are the 5* bedrooms, outdoor terrace/BBQ area, full size snooker table, well stocked kitchen, relaxing lounge, and large gardens to explore. The owners have created the perfect getaway... More
