my wife and I spent the weekend at the ashbourne house hotel and could not praise it enough. The staff were welcoming and pleasant at all times. The food in both the bar and the loft restaurant were to die for,the breakfast catered for all tastes with full irish, cereals ,fruit, youghurts etc.On both nights there was live entertainment,we never left the hotel as... My wife and I with another couple took the opportunity to purchase a Groupon deal at a very good price for this hotel. Disappointingly our expectations weren't met or in truth even considered. I have included a brief synopsis of issues encountered.... Car park shared with a cargo container from which I imagine old furniture was being stored or sold... More

I have just returned home from what was to be a nice Sunday Lunch with my husband. I am still upset and in shock at the appalling manner in which one of the carvery staff spoke to me. Did you ever feel like you were invisible when being served by someone??? When I approached the carvery he was already angry... More

Again, I was one of the Groupon groupies who booked this hotel for 2BB1D for €99 per couple. As my parents were also using their groupon for the same weekend, the hotel allowed us to bring our 2 young sons (4&3) and have 1 stay in each room on a B&B basis for €20. Great value. Didn't expect much for... More

We had taken a short break, our sixth one from October 2011. This hotel looked lovely from the picture that had been presented on the web site, it said on the edge of the town which I would of classed as slightly out of the town centre, Ah no its right on a very busy junction and across the road... Have to be honest; whilst the staff are excellent, the hotel itself just isn't somewhere I could recommend to anyone. The room I stayed in was very shabby, the walls are paper thin and the amenities are non-existent. Just to confirm, I can't fault the staff; they made the stay much more bearable. If you need to stay in Ashbourne,... More

Stayed during midweek for 1 night. Its ok, definately wouldnt bring the girl here. Drove in the car park, first impression, broken glass off a car window, and a sign park here at your own risk. Room: door is just about closing, no bath, dirty windows, carpet needs a good hoover. I had dinner in the bar, lamb was nice,... More

My wife and I have just returned from a two night midweek break in this hotel, 2 nights b&b and one evening meal for €99 per couple. I booked this deal with Groupon and at first was a bit sceptical about what we could expect for this sort of money but I needn't have worried. How refreshing it is to... More
