My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The owners are very friendly, and a wealth of knowledge for travelers. This was our first trip to Ireland, and they really helped us out. Their B&B is ultra clean, and on a very nice, quiet side street. Easy walking distance to restaurants. Their rooms are well appointed, and very comfortable.... More

Stayed in this B&B for one night in February. Met by both owners on arrival and checked in. They were more than helpful in suggesting a number of places to eat that night. Rooms were old worldly and very comfortable. Breakfast was second to none, all free range and made fresh including the wheaten and bread. When we left I... More

Stayed there on way to Dublin, read reviews for area and tried here. Good decision . Rooms are first class with beautiful decor thru out. Booked two rooms as with son and friend. We asked where to eat as after 8pm. Guided to Seasons Restaurant in centre of town. Best food on our tour of Ireland. Beds were very comfortable.... More

We stayed on Saturday night 26th July 2014 , We arrived at 8.30 in the evening , (we rang earlier in the evening to say we would be a late arrival). On our arrival we were greeted by the owner , he checked in and straight away we were asked what we would like for breakfast the next morning ,... More

We stopped for one night in Portlaoise last May during a golfing trip across Ireland. Location is nice, just a couple of minutes walk from town centre. House and rooms are old fashioned, but lovely and well maintained. Breakfast was very good too. Very convenient parking at rear.

Lovely place, gorgeous rooms and house in general. It was an experience to stay here in beautiful surroundings and amazingly friendly staff. Would recommend the Ivyleigh House to everyone! Thanks for the great stay in Port Laoise.

Stayed in this B&B for one night while attending a family get-together in town. The house itself is lovely and well maintained, although not to my personal taste - very old fashioned, lots of fussy carpets and furnishings. The room we were shown to was very large with an enormous comfortable bed. However, there were some issues - the proprietor... More

We stayed in this guest house for the weekend of the Electric Picnic last year. All aspects of our stay were excellent. The rooms are large and very well maintained, and the house itself is beautiful. There is ample parking and the location could not be mre convenient for getting trains or buses (literally a few metres from the train... More

Charming Georgian House on outskirts of town centre within 5 mins walk of all major pubs restaurants and 2 mins from cinema. Ideal location and safe parking at rear. The house is wonderful. No lift but huge bed rooms and large bathrooms with good showers. Our room had a massive bed with lovely antique furniture. All furnishings and bed linen... More

perhaps a relic of the celtic tiger this is definitely a cut above the standard B&B but at the end of the day for the price, its still just a B&B and perhaps should lower their fees. We stayed here for a weekend as a last minute thing and so didnt shop around. The place has a real charm about... More
