Stayed at the hotel Jul 2008 with two Children under 3. The hotel was lovely just on the outskirts of the town centre. The hotel does not offer "family rooms" the biggest room has a double and single bed with just enough room for a travel cot. We phoned to see if there was a fridge in the hotel room... more

Heritage Hotel Portlaoise My partner and I had a midweek break at the 4* Heritage Hotel in Portlaoise Town. We have a special offer of 3 night’s bed and breakfast, plus 1 dinner. This was through a voucher I had received from Hotel Points. After looking at the website and viewing the accommodation, we were expecting fantastic things! How disappointed... more

Check-in was quick and receptionist very friendly!! the rooms were ok, nothing special and a bit on the small side! a good selection of restaurants to choose from- spagio's was excellent - the grillhouse was not so good!! the leisure centre was good and very big! gym was excellent and the pool big but... more

Nice hotel-lovely lobby and reception area with a coffee shop on site. Had a really beautiful meal at a function and the waiting staff were very efficient. My problem was with the bedroom. Three people sharing a room (all obviously paying a full rate)-one of our party found a stranger's used underwear under her pillow (dark socks and a pair... more

What began as a mildly irritating unhelpfulness of the staff soon spiralled into our stay becoming an entire farce. A group of five of us booked a package for bed & breakfast and a ticket to a concert on that night in the hotel venue. Upon arriving in Portlaoise We rang reception to check if we were at the right... more

We arrived up to find the room without heat during a particularly cold night. Four times the front desk staff assured us that it would be rectified; no attempt was actually made to fix the problem and we slept in a freezing room. When we complained the next morning the duty manager assured us that we could have his number... more

I'm just back from a weekend at the Heritage and I'm really surprised at the negative reviews that have been written. We checked in, quickest check in to any hotel I've ever stayed in, the staff were lovely. I'd a double & single bed in my room, the room was really big, I'd a table and chairs in it, iron,... more

I have just returned from a 3 day break at the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise with a group of 47 people and I or the group have no complaints whatsoever with this hotel. The staff were very helpful & friendly, the hotel was of the standard I would expect from any 4* Hotel. We were on a bed & breakfast basis... more

Myself and my husband stayed in the Heritage Hotel for our wedding anniversary in August, and found it to be fantastic. I cannot get over some of the previous bad reviews it has received on this site, it is as if they are talking about a different hotel, because we certinally had no problems when we stayed here. Complaints about... more
