I recently stayed in this hotel with my partner for a weekend, We ate in Spago's thier Italian restaurant on the first night as the Grillhouse was booked up so we made sure to book there for the second night as it seemed to be very popular, both restaurant were busy on both nights but we had two delightful meals.... more

We stayed there due to a wedding in the hotel. Unfortunately we did not get a smoking room as requested, but they let us smoke in the room. The hotel is very spacious and there is a great atmosphere. Had a lovely stay in the Heritage Portlaoise. The location in the town centre is fantastic and the Steak restaurant is fantastic- you can cook your own steak on a hot stone at your table! Attended a conference - couldn't stay overnight but others who did said it was comfortable and there were no bad reports. The sound and technical support seemed fine, the catering and waiting staff were very pleasant and the buffet at lunch was efficient.
