A group of us hillwalkers stayed overnight in the Waterside Guest House in order to complete a walk. It does not look the most interesting of houses as it was built in 1871 as a grainstore but inside it is very comfortable with good sized bedrooms with views over the river and Brandon Hill. The beds are ideal for a... More

Stayed here on bank holiday Monday night in June which was a wash out of a day. Restaurant wasn’t open and there are very limited options in the village. One of the pubs serving food wasn’t even open, I assume because it was bank holiday. We drove back to Kilkenny for dinner, not much else to do when it was... More

Beautiful guesthouse. Fantastic views. Stayed for just one night but accommodation was better than we had expected and great value. The breakfast was brilliant and all of the staff were very helpful. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

We rented bicycles from Brian at Waterside and set off for a family trip alongside the river on a beautiful spring day. The route is absolutely beautiful, perfect for walkers or cyclists looking for a casual trip out in the fresh air. We made it to St. Mullins about 7km downriver and stopped for lunch by the water before cycling... More

Everything was great. Fabulous breakfasts; great service. Brian (the owner) could not have been more giving. He had an amazing knowledge of the area. He even picked us up after a hike. We would definitely stay again.

Waterside is a very comfortable guest house, incorporating a very good restaurant. It is situated by the bank of the river Barrow, a very tranquil spot, lots of narrow boats and other craft moored up, a lovely bridge connecting Kilkenny and Carlow, a weir and lock down river and plenty of very pleasant walks to be had. We were only... More

Friendly and helpful place. With food that is fit for a royal plate. Spotless clean rooms from a dedicated owner and team. Simple book it if you are there and don't pass restaurant. We had a large group over for some team building. Spent the afternoon canoeing and stayed and enjoyed dinner in Waterside. Jc.

Graiguenamanah is a quiet town set along a river. At first glance it doesn't look like much but after 4 days here we became quite fond of the place. A visit to the impressive church from the 11:the century and the wool mills (where the very friendly owner gave us a guided look at the over 100 year old machines)... More

We stayed in the guesthouse in June for a mates wedding. Have to say it was one of the best weddings we have been to and the guesthouse added very much to our enjoyment. We got one of the largest rooms in the guesthouse which had extreme comfort. The food both for the wedding (3 courses) and breakfast was top... More

Waterside focuses on what is important. Big comfortable rooms, superb breakfast and wonderful restaurant. And what a location! Right on the banks of the Barrow, swimming diving walking and cycling all on the doorstep. A great playground on the hill just behind the guesthouse. Kids were in heaven.
