Grand spot, mrs monaghan could smile a little bit more but fair play to her for sticking at the job, grand aul room, a bit dated but cheap and cheerful, comfortable bed and shower was good. Id probably stay again sometime in the future, I never tried the bar so cant comment on the guinness unfortunately

Usually visit this hotel a few times a year and have our Christmas Party here most years as well. I love the place and the food is excellent value and the service is second to none. Mrs Monaghan is a very kind and helpful lady and I am a fan of hers. Peter - Polio

Only one good thing- The breakfast lady- She was so polite and helpful. I think she should go on Front desk!! Now the bad points- 1- Mrs Monaghan needs to go! They need someone with a better attitude on the front desk! She looked at me and my husband as if we were dirt! We both got the feeling that... More

I was a little bit put off by some of the reviews here on trip advisor but I decided to book a few nights at the hotel as I was going to a wedding in the area. I was pleasantly surprised to find a centrally located hotel with old world values - clean, hospitable & good food. It was a... More

We stayed here for one night while attending a wedding in another hotel closeby. This hotel is nothing to look at but is fine for a short stay such as ours (id say they pick up a lot of overflow from the other hotel). The interior is stuck somewhere in the eighties and in general the whole place could do... More

Can't help but laugh at the TripAdvisor reviews! Thought it was just us but now realise it's not! Dear Mrs Monaghan should retire to her nursing home! She Begrudgingly snipped off a scrap of paper with the WiFi password on it when we asked Noisy rooms & fights outside on the street at chuckout time (probably not from this pub)... More

On arriving at this hotel I was greeted by an elderly lady who could only be described as the basis on which the basil faulty character from the sitcom faulty towers was based on . A very unfriendly " I'm bothering you by giving you my custom " elderly lady who I think was possibly the owner . I was... More

Think I'll wait for the old bird on reception to pop her clogs before even considering going back here, never felt so unwelcome in a place. Location , parking and surrounding area only positive for this place. It was so bad it actually became funny ...

Where to start. outside the hotel lettering was missing off the name . Reception area was like something from a Hitchcock movie. Dull ,smelly with faded flowers and random clutter with no proper seating. Worn carpets, beer kegs thrown under the stairs. Cot and mattress thrown outside the bedroom door. Room was okay but very out dated. Random coloured towels... More

Receptionist/owner could be a bit more friendly.A comment was made by her how she hoped the room was non smoking. However, that was not to be.The bathroom drank of stake cigarette smoke, which lingered out into the room. Yes, the hotel is dated but found the bed very comfy. On arrival we were told breakfast wad served from 7.30-9.30/10, however... More

In response to your review all our rooms are non smoking and have non smoking signs in the rooms so there should not have been a smell of smoke but we do apologise for the previous guest who stayed in that room must have been smoking. We have waitress service in our dining room and display on our breakfast menu... More
