Me and a group of my friends stayed at this hotel on a motorbike holiday and we couldn't have picked a better place! All the staff are very lovely and all the money is put back into maintaining the amazing building and that is just so refreshing. A definite place to go for a lovely weekend away:-)

I was invited by a group of friends who had booked Dollardstown House, to spend an overnight in early December 2014. There were 13 ladies who wanted a night of complete R&R - and we couldn't have chosen a better venue for it. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, and we all just switched... We stayed for two nights. Food was excellent and nothing was a trouble to Andrew or Antoinette. On arrival Andrew had the lounge fire lit. Fresh coffee and scones were served. We stayed in the master bedroom which was very welcoming and cosy. The house is full of character and parts are a 'work in progress' which Andrew and Antoinette... More

Dollardstown house is a three to four hundred year old home sitting proudly on a beautiful piece of land. You will not find a warmer welcome anywhere, be it the scones and tea by a roaring log fire that welcomed our arrival, the excellent meal we had with our friends that evening or the soft and comfortable beds we collapsed... We were a family of 3 and Antoinette made our stay very special. It was such a treat to arrive, on a dark rainy bleak afternoon, to hot scones and tea. We then had the delights of dinner served by Lydia in front of a roaring open fire. The generous breakfast could easily serve also as your lunch! Our room... More

We had a very comfortable, enjoyable short break at historic Dollardstown House. Our stay was to celebrate the birthday of one of our group and we were delighted that we had the house to ourselves. Antoinette and Andrew were wonderful hosts and made us most welcome. The freshly-baked scones and coffee on arrival, the log-burning fires, and the wholesome Irish... More

We stayed two autumn nights in this lovely house. We particularly enjoyed the authentic 18th century house and interior. However, it was the hospitality which won the day for us and could not have been any better. An incredibly generous breakfast and beautiful log-burning open fire was most welcome as well as scones upon arrival. Nothing was a problem. We... More

Imagine you were fortunate enough to have friends who were involved in an exciting country house restoration of a fabulous Georgian house, set in beautiful parkland and they invited you down for a visit ... and then you found they were fantastic chefs and not only put you up in a beautiful and artfully restored bedroom but also spoiled you... I came to Athy to do some research on my grandparents. My daughter and I stayed at the Dollardstown House and we are very glad we did. It wasn't just the historic home we experienced, it was the warm welcome of Antoinette and Andrew with scones and a roaring fire. So accommodating, not just in helping us with anything we... More

Myself and partner stayed here on Saturday nite. Firstly proprietors greeted us and took our bags. Treated to tea/coffee n treats surrounded by open fire on arrival. Lovely homely atmosphere. Peaceful elegance at its best. Will definitely be back soon. 5 star
