We had the pleasure of visiting Dollardstown House recently and despite bad weather on the night of arrival, the house itself and our hostess Antoinette afforded us a very warm Irish welcome. This may not sound unusual but it was, as Antoinette is Dutch. The house itself is full of 'Olde World' charm as it dates back even longer that... More

We spent 4 nights in Dollardstown House in mid-June and, like the other reviewers, found it absolutely excellent. A wonderful old house with really idyllic pastoral views but still convenient for lots of locations - ideal for Kildare and Carlow but Kilkenny, Laois, Wicklow and Dublin also within pretty easy range. Exceptionally friendly and hospitable hosts and a lovely room... More

We were lucky enough to arrive at the wonderful Dollardstown House and meet Antoinette who gave us the warmest of welcomes. She is the perfect hostess (nothing too much trouble) and as others have said before within ten minutes we felt we were talking to a good friend. The glorious three course dinner we ate in the cosy dining room... More

We stayed with Antoinette and Andrew for one night as we were attending a wedding in the local area. Our first impression of the house as we pulled through the gates was fantastic and we were made feel very welcome by Antoinnette who came out to the car to greet us. The house is a historic property which is being... More

Just back from a night stay at Dollardstown House for TriAthy. We brought our 3 children and my husband stayed an extra night. There was a double room for us and the kids had a kingsize bed and a single in their room. Can't praise Antionette and Andrew enough for the warm welcome and friendly and attentive service. We recently spent 2 nights at Dollardstown House and had a wonderful time. The house is wonderful and atmospheric, set in beautiful grounds. Our hosts, Antoinette and Andrew could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The legendary scones lived up to our expectations, and both the breakfasts and evening dinner cooked by local chef Lydia were fabulous. (We had... More

My Husband and I are just back from a lovely relaxing one night stay at Dollardstown House. Arrived to a very warm welcome and lovely homemade scones which we kept for the next day as didn't want to fill up before dinner. Lovely surroundings and homemade dinner cooked by Lydia. A bit off the beaten track, but worth it! Indeed, our favourite in Ireland (we sampled about 7 B&B's around the country). Antoinette and Andrew were absolutely lovely hosts, catering to all our needs. We enjoyed dinner both nights of our stay, cooked by Lydia - simple yet innovative, well-presented cuisine, portions substantial! And some of the best home cooked... More

Dear G & K. Thank you so much for staying with us and for your kind words. We are delighted to hear you had a good time. This spring has been particularly cold for Irish standards. It is easy to see how heating Dollardstown in the early 17hundreds must have been a continuous process of keeping all the fires going... More

We stayed overnight at Dollardstown and though a brief visit, we were extremely well looked after. Our late arrival was greeted with an open door, tea and homemade scones. As it was the Valentine's weekend, we were also bestowed with a bottle of sparkling wine, which was a lovely touch. The house is a lovely change from a hotel, very... More
