My partner and I walked the first section of Kerry Way and Blackstones House was our second stop along the trail. We had walked from the Black Valley and were tired when we got there but the hospitality we enjoyed made the extra miles from glencar worth it. Breda and Padraig welcomed us warmly and prepared our chicken and steak... More

Breda and Patrick run a caring and comfortable B&B. The setting is sublime with the River running through it. Two funny dogs make you feel right at home! They provide excellent dinners too, as they are a drive from pubs and eating places. Good wine to choose from as well. We will remember our stay very fondly.

I have just seen this B&B on Tripadvisor and it brought back fond memories of the time we spent there a few years ago. After a long days traveling we arrived completely by accident at Blackstones and decided to spend a couple of nights there. The setting was superb and the food and hospitality first class. We settled in to... More

We were more fortunate that many reviewers, we stayed two nights. At first I was concerned about the distance off the Ring of Kerry, but it was well worth the trip. Blackstones House is amazingly quiet, beautiful scenery, and exceptional hosts. Patrick and Breda were always about and willing to help in every way. Scruffy was always available for play... More

We stayed here for two nights, it's a lovely quiet location next to the river. When we arrived after the long journey from Dublin, we were immediately offered a much appreciated cup of tea. The room was spacious and pleasantly furnished. The breakfast is good and well prepared us for a day out and around Kerry.

My husband and I walked the Kerry Way, Blackstones House was our second stop along the trail. We had walked 17 miles from Black Valley and were exhausted. We hadn't known that the B&B was so far from Glencar but the hospitality we enjoyed made the extra miles on the trail worth it! Breda welcomed us with open arms and... More

Absolutely beautiful setting. Small but cozy and warm room overlooking raging river. Breda was delightful and kind. Breakfast delicious. The scene in the picture below is from a somewhat different vantage point from the room window view, on the Blackstones Bridge. Blackstones House is a bit of a challenge to get to, but th end result is well worth the... More

This past Sunday I returned from my vacation in Ireland, and one my fondest memories is now having stayed at Blackstones House, thanks to the wonderful hosts Patrick & Breda and Scruffy, their curious Jack Russell terrier. If you love idyllic scenery, cozy rooms and fine amenities, hearty homemade breakfasts, kind company, peaceful sleep, and dogs, you must stay at... More

Stayed in this area and it was superb location. Scenery was the high point. Hosts were delightful and the rooms was large. Pressure shower was a big surprise. View out the dining area included a stream and mountains. Could not have been any more quiet. Great location for the ring of Kerry area. Would stay there again. Nice, BIG bed... More

So glad to have found this place. Met by Breda and Pádraig (and Scruffy the dog) and immediately felt at home. Tea and coffee with homemade cake was served in a homely living room- a very welcome treat after such a long journey! We were shown to a beautifully spacious bedroom looking right out onto the river. We were delighted... More
