Myself and a few friends stayed in the Mount Brandon Hostel for 2 nights in October of this year. Arriving late due to traffic, we were very happy that the manager didn't charge us for a late fee, and seemed very reasonable given the hour we arrived. The hostel itself is a very new and modern building with beautiful decor... More

Excellent hostel and perfect base for walkers- very clean, great kitchen facilities, substantial breakfast on offer but you can also cook your own food, lovely dining and sitting areas, outdoor patio/seating area with stupendous views across the bay, within walking distance of 2 pubs (which both had music the weekend we were there). The owners are super friendly and helpful.... More

We spent 2 nights at Mt. Brandon Hostel and had a fantastic stay. We are a family of four and reserved our own room, with an ensuite bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious (rare for hostels!) The kitchen was modern and well stocked, with everything you need to cook meals. We picked up groceries in a nearby... More

Stayed here 2 years ago with my son, really enjoyed it and went back again this year. The location is fabulous, nestled between the mountains and the sea so there's lots to do in the local area. The hostel itself is uber clean and very cute. There is a great kitchen with a large selection of herbs and spices and... More

It had been a long time since I stayed in a hostel and I was very happy with my stay there. First of all, I thought everywhere was clean : the kitchen, the dining area, the sitting room and the bedroom (we had the big family room with 7 beds = 2 bunks, 1 double + 1 single). The kitchen... More

I have just returned from a short trip to Mount Brandon Hostel and the hospitality I received was outstanding. Mary and Michael who run the hostel cannot do enough for you : Michael collected us from Tralee and Mary welcomed us with tea and cake and invaluable advice about the local area and the special events which were happening. Mary... More

As hostels go, this is one of the very best in a small village right next to a charming thatched pub that does food and serves delicious craft ale from Kerry. Sited on the shore of a tidal creek opening into Brandon Bay and offering fine sea and mountain views, it’s quiet, reasonably priced, well furnished, warm and clean. The... More

Family (7 of us) weekend stay with Mary & Micheál - just wonderful. Wonderful location, hospitality, facilities. Cooking facilities excellent, hot showers (which is a bit of a novelty in a hostel), clean and friendly. And as I said, the location - sitting out the back and looking at the Atlantic, having a glass of wine and bite to eat.... More

A wonderful hostel at the beach. The hostel manager is taking care of his fellows in a very charming and helping way. His "meditation and energy"-sessions are a must, if someone is interested in. Nice rooms, ideal for a group of friends, families, student classes or any group of people. Perfect neighborhood with two Irish pubs. Good meals and great... More
