Cloch na Scith is a lovely B&B if you'd like to stay out of Galway and in a 130 year old traditional thatched cottage. Breakfast was very nice (not outstanding) though the fruit salad was very nice and it was lovely to share it with others staying at the B&B. Our expectations were definitely met during our two night stay.... more

I've been to Galway many times, but the thatched cottage was undoubtedly the best place I've stayed. Beautifully restored cottage with all the home comforts. Easily would sleep 4 adults. Location is perfect - 2km walk to spiddal village and a short drive to Galway city. Really great value, will definitely return more

This is a very charming B&B . Breakfast contains self-baked bread !! And the guinness-cake, so tasteful. Close to Galway, this is a must-be place if you don't want to sleep in a busy Galway itself. Lovely stay, we sure will come back once ! more

This was a great find. You can see the ocean from their property, and the room and ensuite bathroom were squeaking clean. The breakfast was nice as well - there were even options to choose from. She is quite busy as she runs quite a business so she doesn't have lots of time to talk, but she took the time... more

We have recently returned from a three week trip to Ireland. Two of those weeks, we stayed in Bed and Breakfasts, most of those were chosen with the help of advice from Trip Advisor reviews. All were good choices, but Cloch na Scith stands out as the best of them all. We chose Cloch na Scith, in part, for its... more

I stayed at Nancy's self-catering thatch cottage last Christmas for 2 nights. We arrived and the key had been left in the front door for us (shows you how safe the area is). Afterwards, Nancy called in with some tea-bags, milk and home-made bread and butter for breakfast (on the 2nd night she did the same). She is very friendly... more

We planned a wonderful trip to Ireland to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary in September 07. I began the booking process early in the year and thought that I had all things confirmed. I had confirmed dates, sent a western union money wire, recieved directions to the location, etc. from Nancy. However, when we arrived at the cottage, we... more

Arrived in the evening when dark and thankfully the owner left on a spotlight illuminating a large tree at the roadside which was essential to locate the property on the unlit road. The gas central heating was already on and I found the thatched cottage very warm. Be sure to get the owner to point out the central heating trip... more

Stayed here for 4 nights at end of May 07. Wanted Galway/ Connemara for scenery and unspoiled Ireland and looked for traditional B & B. Not disappointed on either count. B & B was reasonably priced, room more than adequate and hospitality excellent. Shower small though! Very good breakfast with home made soda bread (Nancy makes this in front of... more

We booked the bed and breakfast directly with the owner, Nancy. The rooms were great, the location was a short drive outside of Galway just on the coast, the breakfast was plentiful, and Nancy was a good host. The problems came when we discussed the "business" end of the deal. We had booked the rooms for two nights, for 64... more
