Book a last minute 2 night break in this hotel last week. Got a good deal from Manor House website. Check in was efficient and friendly, had classic room on first floor overlooking river. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable, bathroom very clean with shower over bath. The hotel has a lovely, homely, cosy feel about it. When you turn... More

May I preface my review by saying that I absolutely loved Ballynahinch Castle. The Castle itself is magnificent, the grounds spectacular, the bar is great, the food in the restaurant is wonderful and the staff couldn't have been better or more friendly, my only issue is with the room... We booked a luxury double room and on our arrival we... More

Dear Bob, Thank you for your feedback on your stay and your room. We have had some terrible plumbing issues in this room which I believe are finally addressed and our maintenance team have redecorated accordingly. I am really pleased that despite these shortcomings your enjoyed your experience of the hotel, estate, food and service. I just regret that in... More

If you want to take a break and be treated like a King or Queen, this is the place to go. Everything is perfect and works well. The staff make sure to make you comfortable in every aspect of your staying, whether in your room or taking a stroll around the property. Just don’t miss it because you may be... More

I would recommend reading Tim Robinson's book Connemara before visiting Ballynahinch castle, it will provide you with a wonderful history of the area and the hotel itself. We didn't read it before our visit, but were very conscious of a sense of the history of Ballynahinch as we walked around the beautiful grounds. The dinning room is wonderfully bright with... More

Dear Jessie, Thank you for your wonderful review. I am pleased that you enjoyed the food, particularly the breakfast, at Ballynahinch. The team are doing a great job and we were just voted best hotel restaurant in Connacht by the Restaurant Association of Ireland, so rather pleased. Do come and visit again soon. Patrick More

Last year I decided to impress my wife for her birthday, by joke she kept teasing me about being brought in a castle.. And so I did. Location: not difficult to be found, breathtaking on the arrival entering the estate, the river, the lake.. You need a car, perfect location for a simple trekking or venturing to Connemara. Building: well... More

A little out of the way but worth the trip. I was expecting to be under-dressed and out of place but the cordial atmosphere was casual and relaxing. Our room was quite a hike from reception but worth the effort. We had a breath taking view of the lake and island. The room was huge with a four poster bed,... More

Dear Susan, I am so pleased that you enjoyed your visit to Ballynahinch so much. The river is still there and now the Salmon are running. The entertainment from the restaurant window now includes a Mallard with a clutch of 8 ducklings, leaping salmon and a prowling otter! Come back soon Kuwait is not as green as here! Patrick More

Our small group stayed two nights and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The property was beautiful, and the friendly staff was always ready and willing to please. It was a great location for visiting Kylemore Abbey, the Burren and Clifden. I cannot comment on the value category since I was the lucky beneficiary of a gift certificate covering the expense of the... More

We arrived with sick clothes stuffed in a very sticky bag (the outcome of our poorly 4 year old) i handed them over to be laundered to an incredibly helpful receptionist who really couldn't have been kinder. The hospitality, food and environs were excellent, the interiors a little worn around the edges but the kindness shown to us and our... More

I was at a gathering in Ballynahinch Castle last week and was fortunate to enough experience the hospitality of Patrick and his staff. I have toured Ireland extensively with my work and have visited Ballynahinch on a number of occasions and each visit has surpassed the previous. We had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant and each course exceeded our... More

Had a hugely enjoyable stay here at Easter. Hotel is top class. Location stunning. In an otherwise wild and relatively barren landscape the hotel lies in a little oasis of lush vegetation beside the Ballynahinch River. Food excellent(go for dining room with great views over the river and more extensive menu)and rooms were lovely. Very comfortable beds also. Staff could... More
