I recently won a prize which consisted of a weekend stay in this absolute peaceful haven in scenic Connemara. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were struck by the truly open and genuine warmth of the properitor Kay, We arrived on the Friday evening and were unfortunately only able to stay one night due to prior commitments. I assumed we... more

Every gardener enjoys visiting other's gardens and seeing what they have done ..to dream a little and experiencing this garden and house, whittled out of the rugged Connemara area of Ireland brings in itself awe and wonderment at the accomplishment. Cashel House and its staff were very helpful while there and is a charming hotel to call home away from... more

We had a chance to spent a night with my girlfriend in Cashel House. We found it easily as there are signs all the way. Its hidden in the middle of paradise. Its tranquil, peacefull place. If you want to escape from everyday stress, thats the right place to go. We were welcomed by receptionist who gave us all usefull... more

The garden is most beautiful with lovely walks throughout the 50 acres. The food is absolutely delicious, the bedroom we stayed in was most comfortable and had lovely views of the garden. The proprietor Mrs McEvilly was very warm and welcoming. more

We stayed on a Sunday Times offer for two nights in June '08. Accommodation was free but we spent Euro 100 on an upgrade to a better room. I just rediscovered the bill and was moved to write this report. Two nights accommodation: Euro 100 for room upgrade (not really made clear that it was 50x2 ... and I have... more

We greatly appreciate the time guests take to write honest reviews and we take the content very seriously. The 12.5% service charge is a relic of a by-gone era and has been eradicated. All rates published now are inclusive of all taxes and charges. Cashel House has purposely tried to retain the atmosphere of an Irish Country House. We defend...

I can still see the gardens of Cashel House in my mind. Not just on sunny days - even when it is raining here in London, I think 'every cloud has a silver lining', this rain helped those plants grow when in pased over that lovely garden in the west of Ireland. Care was lavished on the plant. care was... more

We stayed in the Cashel House Hotel in early August for three days, one of the first stops on our tour of Ireland. It was not just the beauty of the gardens, and the tranquillity of the surroundings: the splendour of the food matched the splendour of the views of the gardens that we enjoyed at the dinner table each... more

We just returned from 10 days in Ireland, and of all the hotels I had booked, I was most looking forward to Cashel House. Their web site it well-done and the photos of the house and grounds are lovely. Unfortunately the reality was very disappointing. The house is decorated with a lot of Victoriana frou-frou, and it's quickly apparent that... more

We always appreciate honest and forthright reviews of Cashel House. It is an excellent median in which we can improve. Regarding this review. Cashel House is still very much a family home and family run business. For each piece of the Victoriana frou frou mentioned there holds a memory and a story which makes Cashel special. Something we have no...

First the good things: we had booked one suite and one std room for our teenage kids and they upgraded our kids so we could be together. The rooms had a countryhouse kind of charm and beautiful gardens. As for the rest..the attitude of the staff generally was as if they were doing us a favour letting us into their... more

Thank you for your extremely forthright review. I am sorry but we cannot defend every criticsm levelled at us other than the comments most certainly hit home and we have seriously looked at procedures and attitudes. The water discolouration problem has been resolved in that we no longer rely on mountain springs. It is a shame as even though coloured,...

I had bought my wife a voucher for Cashel House last Christmas and we were eagerly looking forward to going since then. Sadly, it far from lived up to our expectations. Our first impression was not great as when we went into the reception area the first member of staff we met ignored us completely (he appeared to be assisting... more
