We decided to stay outside of Dublin as it was more reasonably priced and quieter. Stayed at this very good small hotel / b&b. The rooms were small but very clean with a nice bathroom . Excellent breakfast and close to transport ( bus) to Dublin. There was very nice places to eat nearby as well. After a long day... More

I found myself having to make a sudden and unexpected trip to the area for personal reasons this weekend, and didn't have the luxury of weeks to research hotels and plan in advance. I found Moat Lodge on a hotel search website and given that the price was so much lower than the other choices, decided to book it without... More

Thank you for the positive review, we are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. You mentioned the carpets and furniture being a bit dated and you are right; we actually have plans to refurnish the rooms progressively in 2016 with new carpets, tv's and wardrobes. Do stop by again if you are in the area. More

Not far from the Dublin Airport in the quiet area of Lucan we enjoyed our first day in Ireland at Moat Lodge. Short walk to village where you can enjoy a meal or drink at several pubs, there's a grocery store and the bus stop to catch a ride in to Dublin for the day. The room is basic, clean,... More

We were visiting friends in Lucan so the location was excellent. Facilities in the room were basic and the furnishings were outdated. On the plus side, it was a comfortable night's sleep and breakfast was very nice.

We stayed here for 2 nights and LOVED it. Our hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating — she even went out and bought skim milk for my mom to have with cereal after hearing her briefly mention it. She helped guide us in to Dublin via public bus, giving us perfect instructions to the bus stop, the bus schedule, and... More

Where to start.......Astrid and her staff should be very proud, we have never stayed at a cleaner B&B, wonderful food, spotless room and friendly smiles every day. Only a short bus ride to the City Centre. Our first time to Dublin but definitely not our last, and guess where we`ll stay next time we`re over ?!?!

The Moat Lodge was the perfect place for my Dad and I to rest after a long day in Dublin. The host was lovely and helpful, our room was exceptionally comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was a delicious traditional Irish breakfast! Additionally, Lucan is such a beautiful town with some nice pubs and restaurants.
