For my mother birthday we decided to head for Sunday Lunch with a touch of Luxuary. When we booked we were told there was three sittings & we were asked to select one, we decided to go for the 6pm Sitting. When we arrived in the Restaurant we were told that the kitchen closes at 6pm & if our whole... more

Was hard for us to find. As with many places in Ireland, had no address to put into our navigation, and the signage was insufficient. There is a sign that reads "Finnstown House", but it appears to be the name of a subdivision. It would help to add "Country" and "Hotel" to that sign, as well as add another sign... more

We didnt stay there, but have gone there a couple of times to eat and have a relaxing afternoon. However the last time I left feeling very angry at the abrupt, unfriendly and very crude service. While ordering we were asked several times "is dat it , yea?" and felt pressured into hurrying up our order. I hope it was... more

We stayed for one night after attending a wedding reception. The wedding meal was excellent, service quick and discreet. The room overlooked gardens, with a nice firm mattress on a very good sized double bed. All was clean and well stocked. The breakfast was held in a pleasant dining room, with friendly staff and very filling it was too. more

Attended for a family reunion. Great location and grounds. Building looks impressive from outside and a good selection of function rooms. Very busy wedding venue. Check in was at 2pm - we arrived a 3pm to find room wasn't ready and we had nowhere to rest after a long journey. When we informed reception they said "thanks for letting us... more

This is an'old world' style manor house hotel with lovely grounds - stayed one night while attending a family gathering. The price is reasonable except for fri night, which is double! Looks like its being recently refurbished as the decor looks new - pleasant room with a good breakfast. No problem with staying there again. more

We stayed at the hotel as we were attending a wedding. The hotel price was a rip off (160 euros) for one night which seemed ridiculous! They had doubled the price since the wedding was on. The hotel grounds are beautiful but once inside, the hotel was very dark and dingy and awful decor. Not worth the money! more

What a fantactic hotel!!! From the picturesque tree lined driveway, to the open fire in the entrance hall, the beautiful peacock roaming the grounds and the smiling staff you couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The large drawing room is both cosy and private even when busy. Myself and my partner were joining friends for the weekend for... more

The room wasn’t cleaned well, we found old underwear in the cabinet. There is no pool, this is only written on a small sign at the reception desk, though on the website they encourage you to use the indoor heated swimming pool, or chill out in the Turkish bath. - I think it would be justified to write on the... more

I booked the finnstown house hotel for my mothers 70th birthday. There were 8 adults and 3 children. It was on new years day,we booked 2nights B-B-1 evening meal.We did not want to go too far out of dublin at this time of the year so with all the good reviews it seemed the best place as there was a swimming... more
