More a Restaurant with rooms & bar than an hotel. Very scenic location overlooking bay and stunning views, but remote location between Donegal & Kilybegs. Rooms are good rather than excellent, but clean, comfortable and have all you need. Restaurant is really first class, both for Dinner and Breakfast. you would have to travel far to eat better. Great hosts,... More

I have always wanted to visit this part of Donegal and I evetually got up there. Just 3 and a half drive from Dublin. If you want to get away to a nice chilled place, you could not ask for better weekend break. We arrived on the fri evening and were brought to our room. I was not expecting the... More

My wife and I have travelled all of Ireland over four separate visits (I was born in Dublin) and found that of all the hotels and restaurants Castle Murray stood out above all for us. The management and staff were extremely courtious, helpful and friendly throughout our short three night stay.. The room (#9) had lovely bay and field views... More

My husband and I were touring through Ireland and we stayed Castle Murray Hotel for 1 night. The rooms are all unique, ours was room 9 at the top of a private staircase. It was beautifully appointed and had a door onto the rooftop balcony. It is at the back of the Hotel so no views of the water but... More

Being regular visitors to Donegal my wife and I enjoy the outstanding hospitality at Castle Murray. Before or after lecture periods either in Limerick or in Belfast a weekend facing the bay and McSwyne's Castle is a must. Doubtless to say folks in the restaurant, both kitchen and service, pull on the culinary strings. And what is nicer than to... More

Castlemurray is a "foodies" haven away from it all. If you like great food, particularly seafood, then book now! Marguerite and her team make you feel so welcome and the service over your entire stay while being professional and attentive it is also so down to earth, personal and relaxing. I have been there many times and just writing this... More

This is one of Donegal's best kept secrets. I have been here twice, once in 2008 and again in Aug 2010 and both times have been fantastic. The food is literally to die for, make sure you order the house special monkfish and prawns to start!! The rooms have been recently refurbished up to a modern spec and are really... More

This has to be the best place to stay and they regularly have repeat customers, know this to be true as I want to go back. The food in the restaurant is amazing thank god that for the pudding selection there is an option of the pudding 'selection' yum four small versions of the days desserts! The breakfast was filling... We found exactly what we were looking for in a weekend break. Excellent price lovely scenery and walks on the beach. Very pleasant staff, relaxing drinks on decking overlooking the bay. A bit remote but thats what we wanted.

For food, ambience & accommodation you will not do better than Castle Murray House as a place to visit in Donegal. The French flair is ever present married perfectly with the Irish hospitality of the staff. The quality of the rooms are superb and the mouth watering dinners will leave you wanting to return time and time again.
