Went here for lunch a few days ago. The seafood platter was fantastic - the prawns were so succulent, there was a good portion of lobster, the smoked salmon was unique: never had peat smoked salmon before. The service was excellent, and the price of the meal was good value.

The good - location and breakfast. Nice view from the room, and the drive out is pretty. Breakfast was tasty and good fish option. The ok - service. Meet and greet was good, if a bit over the top. Breakfast service was a bit disorganised and inattentive, but they got there in the end. The dinner options were limited, only... More

Deserves every accolade for superb food: prawn/scallop signature starter sublime from French chef who's been there 20 years. Backed by wonderful outlook across bay. Each bedroom different decor: some you will like, some not so much; depends on personal taste but all clean and very comfortable and backed by service from staff who can't do enough to help. Fantastic stopover... More

Superb food with very friendly staff. we stayed overnight and the rooms were more than adequate.. Great views of the bay . Would recommend a drive to St Johns point and walk along the shore before dinner.

Fantastic from start to finish. I cannot recommend this place enough. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Gerry. Natural conversationalist and extremely helpful. The room had perfect views of the herb garden and the coastline. The bed was so comfortable and a pleasure to sleep in. The food in particular was exceptional. We had the prawn and monkfish starter,... More

Found this place when looking for somewhere for an overnight stay near Donegal with a good restaurant. Found the place fairly easily, although it is tucked away down a side road. Views of the coast and mountains from the lounge and restaurant were superlative. Rooms were fine - no more or less than what you would expect for this sort... More

If you are in south west donegal taking in the great views and walks you shouldn't miss the chance to stay at least one night here. It's a B&b with the class of a good boutique hotel. Great walks and nearby gardens. But it's secret jewel is the tremendous restaurant which specialists in fish. A great stay. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of staying for 3 nights at Castle Murray House Hotel, just last week, with my buddy Herbie the cocker spaniel. I cannot fault the hotel or the staff, Herbie and I were both welcomed with open arms. The dog friendly room is very spacious, and just like any other hotel room, the only issue we had... More

We brought friends and family for The New Year. We had stayed before and knew the exceptional all-round quality of the place but they were coming from England and were ecstatic about the whole experience. We have never experienced such attention to detail throughout. We will be back and we continue to recommend Castle Murray at every opportunity.

Stayed again at Castle Murray last Friday night 21/3/14. On such a bleak hailstone/snowy night. I considered to be too cold to stay in my caravan - any excuse to jump into lovely cosy bed in a warm cosy hotel. Staff so welcoming as always and nothing is too much bother. My 5* breakfast was greatly looked forward to and... More
