Wonderful two days from start to finish. It may not be super luxury but the house is delightful, the staff attentive and friendly and the food is just amazing. Visited the world famous cookery school too. Nothing but praise! Can't wait to return!

Quite simply from the moment we arrived, the experience is staying in Ballymaloe House exceeded our expectations. It has the ambience of a private home. The rooms have titles and not numbers. We were not chicken No.649 on the 6th. floor of a rack of rooms- We were in the green room. It followed the 18th century Irish tradition of... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on a package that included 2 'events'. Our room was named "the top room" which was at the top of the house (4 flights of stairs not a problem for us). As might be expected the food was excellent. We enjoyed the 5 course dinner one night and just 2 courses the second night... More

A very relaxing experience from start to finish. Our room was very comfortable. The extensive grounds are perfect for a pre-dinner stroll or just sitting with a book. If it's too chilly for a swim in the (heated) outdoor pool (it was for us), you can play tennis or croquet. The 5 course dinner was just perfect, though I couldn't... More

I like the Ballymaloe House. Our room looked out over a garden and the view was lovely. The doors opened to a nice little patio with a table and chairs. I enjoyed the room, the amenities and the place as a whole. The staff were excellent. I thought the dining room and main areas of the house felt a little... More

It may have been a mistake that we associated this hotel with the famous cooking school; although most of its ingredients are sourced locally and it produces a lot of its own food yet the offer was relatively expensive (dinner at Eur.70 per person excl. wine) and bland considering the experience and quality of the school nearby. Very good restaurants... More

We came for our 30th anniversary and, from the attire and mood of the other patrons in the restaurant, this is the place for celebrations. The concierge service was attentive, the room was elegant and comfy (with a door onto the lush garden), and the food absolutely divine. I tasted carrageen moss pudding and mourn not being able to make... More

After spending a week at Ballymaloe House and attending the world renown Ballymaloe Cookery School, we are very sad to leave. This hotel, the staff and the food were wonderful. The staff could not have been warmer or more gracious. The fantastically fresh locally sourced cuisine was heavenly. The grounds are beautiful and full of alcoves and secret gardens. The... More

I had high expectations of Ballymaloe (who wouldn't?). And in many ways it met those expectations. Some highlights: -amazing grounds, lovely to walk -very nice staff -Hazel is a gem -very good breakfast -good wifi If you seek a more formal dining experience with multiple courses of rich food, Ballymaloe is for you. I did have a few nits to... More

Ballymaloe is a gem nestled in beautiful surroundings and not one to be missed. My partner and I had a beautiful 5 course dinner here and were astounded by the standard of cooking, knowledge of local ingredients and brilliant service which all combined made for one of the best evenings we had in Cork. The waiters and waitresses were so... More
