We stayed here in mid February and really loved it. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed and the staff were extremely helpful. The house itself is an old Georgian manor built on the ruins of a Norman castle. It's surrounded by lovely gardens although in February bulbs were just peeking out of the ground. Nice walking area. Ballymaloe is a restful haven, beautiful location near sea in East Cork, comfortable country house style, lots of local amenities to pass a gentle day, very helpful staff, the good food is lovely, it's hearty, tasty, excellent cooking using seasonal local produce, Friday and Sunday offer buffet with wide range sea food, deserts are divine, and the home prepared breakfast... My cousin had her wedding here and they were across the board awesome. The set up was absolutely perfect for the wedding. The hotel didn't nickel and dime you for parking or Internet. The service was awesome. An example was I got in early before lunch opened but was starving. No worries they set me up my own table in... More

I really enjoyed staying at the Ballymaloe House for three nights in June 2014. Breakfast was always excellent, and dinner was also great. The internet did not work well, but it's such a lovely location and close to many attractions. The staff was very accommodating.

We found this hotel delightful. The rooms were tastefully done and the rambling nature of the building gave it a special charm. The meals were outstanding and the service friendly and efficient. We only stayed a night but it also appeared that one could quite easily have stayed for some time and relaxed with plenty to do, if one so... More

I visited Ballymaloe this weekend past as a birthday night away for myself and my husband. On arrival we received a warm welcome from the lady at reception. We were showed to our room which was bright, warm, spacious and very well kitted out. Later we went downstairs to the drawing room which was warm with a blazing fire and... More

Just spent two nights here and wished we had two more. This place is a wonderful oasis from a stressful world with excellent food, service and grounds. The staff are outstanding and nothing is too much trouble. This hotel provides old fashioned service, locally sourced food and a 'peace' that is difficult to find anywhere nowadays. We will be back.
