We stayed in one of the privately owned apartments attached to the hotel ( no. 14 booked thro. Dream Ireland) .and had a very laid back relaxing week. There was just the two of us but the apt comfortably sleeps 5--main bedroom comfortable double bed and en suite and the 2nd bedroom a single and 2 bunk beds. It was... More

This place is fine for a bite to eat but the restaurant is a little shabby. They could do so much with the place as the views are superb. Food was good and service cheerful. They could do so much more to attract more business from the nearby beach (if they wanted it!>?) and not sure they do to be... More

We arrived slightly late and tired to the hotel after a long drive and were greeted by the most beautiful views imaginable and the most laid back man on the planet. Absolutely perfect. The views are exceptional, the hotel is clean and the staff are so lovely. Friendly but not intrusive and nothing was a problem. Their attitude rubs off... More

We were looking for a relaxing easygoing weekend in West Cork and that's exactly what we got. The Hotel is perfectly located being only a short stroll to the amazing beach in Barleycove. We had an amazing view from our Bedroom. Mark and his staff could not have been more helpful and their easygoing vibe makes it all a very... More

Barleycove beach hotel is such a great boutique hotel. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere - this matches the location and overall surroundings. Literally on the beach, the views and scenery are breathtaking. Breakfast on the terrace looking out on the Atlantic Ocean was second to none - freshly cooked to order and just perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel... More

We've been to Barleycove Hotel twice in the past two years, and each time are amazed by how friendly and relaxed the staff are - it feels like staying with friends who have an enormous house and are really good cooks! Also the beach is right on your doorstep and the views from the hotel are the best I've seen... More

Came for dinner on bank holiday Sunday in June. The place was absolutely packed out the doors! Knowing that every place in the area would also be busy decided to wait. The staff was running but still smiling! I had the fish and chips (Definately fresh, not frozen) and my friend had chicken gougons (also fresh!). Definately worth the wait.... More

Have been visiting Barleycove for just over 23 years now, and I always wonder why there was never a proper job done of managing this hotel. Despite the good reviews of the place I think it is just so hit and miss. We went for lunch last summer and it took nearly 2 hours for 5 lunches which were just... More

Thank you to hotel managers Mark Daunt and Sean Madden. We dreamed of a cherished, seaside, civil wedding surrounded by our family and friends, in a welcoming, beautifully located hotel and that's exactly what Mark and Sean provided us with, at the Barleycove Beach Hotel. Having previously stayed at the hotel from time to time, we trusted that we could... More
