The quaint little town of Quin is a not to be missed jewel not far from Shannon Airport in the perfect County Clare. I recently had the pleasure of returning for my third visit....two weeks with side trips to Belfast and Dingle. It was the perfect home base....in great part due to The Abbey Tavern which was just steps away... More

The Tripadvisor ranking is misleading- says #1 B&B in Quin (near Shannon Airport)- but Quin isn't really a bona-fide town, its more a few blocks of buildings and an old Abbey in ruins- mostly cemetery, on a small raceway (roadway) that seems unusually busy for being out in the middle of noplace. The "B&B" are 5 rooms overhead the centuries... More

Has a lovely Sunday Lunch here with my family in law, the food as always was spot on - clean and comfortable restaurant. The staff are friendly. And there is lovely views of Quin Abbey well worth a trip around.

Large but efficient pub restaurant with a great menu and fabulous food. Fish is very good and chips are great. No need to book and a large car park. Free wi-fi is adequate. We found the staff amusing and friendly and the bar area fine for dining but a restaurant is available.

I stayed at The Abbey Tavern with a group of friends while we competed at an equestrian event nearby. On checking in, I asked about breakfast times and was told "you won't get breakfast here before 8.30". I told the owner that our competition times would be early and that 8.30am was too late for us. He then said that,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights during our stay in Ireland. It was a classic, Irish warm welcome when we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. As it happened we ate in both nights and the food was delicious - huge serves and on piping hot plates. Breakfast each day was also the same and more than enough. Mark... More

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch at the Abbey Tavern recently and were served great food, choice of 2 or 3 courses . There was a huge choice from the regular menu and specials. Price ranged from good value upwards to a little pricy, but everything was brilliant anyway, NIce place for anyone in the greater Ennis /... More

We spent 1 night at The Abbey Tavern on our roundtrip through Irland. The room (twin bed) was lovely and the full irish breakfast was the best we got during our visit in Irland. The team - especially Mark - was great and absolutly generous! We'll be glad to come back!

Visited this establishment on bank holiday Monday. For a sleepy town this bar/restaurant was buzzing. Loads of people in and out for either a pint or a meal. Service was great and the food was delicious. They were very accommodating when I asked for gluten free food even though they didn't have a special menu. Would have no problem recommending... More

We had lunch in the bar and dinner in the restaurant during our stay in County Clare. Lunch was absolutely delicious (best seafood chowder ever and the BLT was beautiful). Dinner was unbelievable! We loved it, and the staff was so kind to our children. We had a rather large party and they were so accommodating. The food was amazing!
