We stayed here for 2 nights during our stay in Ireland. It was a classic, Irish warm welcome when we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. As it happened we ate in both nights and the food was delicious - huge serves and on piping hot plates. Breakfast each day was also the same and more than enough. Mark... More

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch at the Abbey Tavern recently and were served great food, choice of 2 or 3 courses . There was a huge choice from the regular menu and specials. Price ranged from good value upwards to a little pricy, but everything was brilliant anyway, NIce place for anyone in the greater Ennis /... More

We spent 1 night at The Abbey Tavern on our roundtrip through Irland. The room (twin bed) was lovely and the full irish breakfast was the best we got during our visit in Irland. The team - especially Mark - was great and absolutly generous! We'll be glad to come back!

Visited this establishment on bank holiday Monday. For a sleepy town this bar/restaurant was buzzing. Loads of people in and out for either a pint or a meal. Service was great and the food was delicious. They were very accommodating when I asked for gluten free food even though they didn't have a special menu. Would have no problem recommending... More

We had lunch in the bar and dinner in the restaurant during our stay in County Clare. Lunch was absolutely delicious (best seafood chowder ever and the BLT was beautiful). Dinner was unbelievable! We loved it, and the staff was so kind to our children. We had a rather large party and they were so accommodating. The food was amazing!

we had lunch there, one of us had the daily special and one of us is coeliac and had to choose off the main menu. The waitress was coeliac aware and friendly, helpful staff, It was busy still at 2pm when we arrived. The food was excellent.

Staid here for 3 days / 2 nights and had a wonderful time with Mark and his staff. Rooms are good, with a beautiful view. Food is really incredible, almost eat the plate! During the evening meeting the local people for a drink makes this stay unforgettable. Mark thanks for your support and hope to see you again.

Very nice place with a nice atmosphere. Right across from the Abbey and St Mary's Church. The food is fantastic and Magella took great care of us. If you're looking for a quick bite or a long meal, I'd recommend it.

We often eat here - the service is unfailingly friendly, and the food is usually excellent. The chef can occasionally have an off day, but odds are you'll be superbly fed. On this occasion, we ate at a larger table than usual - they've pushed two small tables together to make room for the Christmas tree that's now up. The... More
