My husband and I spent a night in Lorum Old Rectory very recently and it was such a wonderful experience. Bobbie's hospitality is fabulous, starting with welcoming cups of tea. The house is truly gorgeous. We stayed in the blue four-poster bed room which was huge and beautifully decorated, with lovely views to Mount Leinster. Bobbie's dinner has to be... More

....with a wonderful owner. Looking at the Hidden-Ireland booklet, this does not fall under the family houses. But we were there with our son and he slept in his own room and felt as if had turned into a prince. The rooms and the house are filled with so many loving details. We were there for just one night. Definitely... More

Really not sure how much I need to write - beyond the fact that I'd not hesitate to return! Bobbie is a very gracious host and rather good on the cooking front too!! From the tea and cake served on our arrival to the breakfast before our departure (not to mention the five course meal the night before), I enjoyed... More

we stayed here for a week-end and had a warm welcome from Bobbie, the owner, with the offer of tea after our journey. its a very peaceful house with the just the sound of the grandfather clock in the background! the rooms are large and beds very comfortable with access to a lovely drawing room. Breakfast is splendid at the... More

The warm welcome Bobbie extends her guests is like none that we've experienced. After being slightly overwhelmed by the stately house, beautiful grounds, and our four-poster bed in our huge room, we were invited to have afternoon tea and home made goodies by the fire in her lovely sitting room. My wife preferred an herbal tea, and Bobbie had a... More

Oh wow! I remember driving up the drive and seeing this wonderful house and wondering if we had actually come to the right place. Thankfully, it was the right place. Parking up in the gravel car park and being greeted by Bobbie made an impression that this stay would be a rather pleasant one. In true 19th century country house... More

You know that you have reached home when the hostess greets you at the door with a big sincere bright smile and hug that says, welcome back. We found this amazing Bed and Breakfast two years ago and we promised then that we would find a way to return. We were lucky again to travel back to Ireland and our... More

I'm only reading reviews of this B&B after having spent the weekend there by chance & couldn't agree more with all of it's excellent reviews. Not only is the house really beautiful & the food fantastic but Bobbi herself is what makes this place unbeatable. I couldn't recommend it highly enough & can't wait to get back down there!

We had a wonderful one-night stay in Lorum last month. Bobbie was a wonderful host, and had tea and freshly-baked cookies for us on arrival. Our room was spacious, with a wonderful 4 poster bed. In the evening, after a g&t in the living room, Bobbie served up a delicious 5-course meal in the cosy dining-room. A great welcome, and... More

Stayed here recently for 1 night while at a wedding in nearby Borris. Lovely old house and found the owner Bobbi to be as helpful and friendly as mentioned in other reviews. The rooms were excellent and spent nearly an hour and a half over breakfast. Would have loved to have tried dinner as would think from the quality of... More
