With some TLC, this place could be a treasure. For now I will say that the location is great - close to the river and shopping, dining etc. The host - Sonny - answered his phone on the first ring every time I called him with a request and he is cheerful and helpful. Some of the old furniture and... More

This is just not a nice place to stay. The location is conveniently close to the downtown area, but the rooms are poorly maintained and service is spotty at best. Breakfast is mediocre, at best. The host, Sonny, is helpful when you ask, but you gotta ask. If you don't, beds don't get made, towels don't get changed, etc.

My Wife and I stayed in the Penthouse Suite at this bed and breakfast. It has a wonderful view from the balcony of the Tennessee River and downtown Knoxville. We were able to walk to many attractions and dinner. The Owner/Innkeeper took pride in making sure we had a very pleasant stay. Brenda and Mike, Atlanta, GA

Sonny was friendly and welcoming and even cooked us a breakfast to order. This is a comfortable, down-to-earth place to stay in a great location. If you enjoy staying in a B&B where you have a chance to get to know the innkeeper, this is a good choice!

We reserved a room called the Penthouse. When we arrived in the evening, the Inn Keeper said he has misplaced his booking book and someone who had arrived earlier said she had the Penthouse, so he gave it to her. We were put in a room on the second floor with paint peeling from the ceiling, a window that looked... More

You couldn't ask for a more comfortable stay, nor nicer people. My husband and I stayed here on one of his work trips and Sonny really took care of us. I am sorry it took me a while to comment, but I have. Never forgotten the amazing treatment and stay. You could stay somewhere newer, but no place as pretty... More

This was certainly an unusual B&B stay. We arrived somewhere between 2:00-2:30, but apparently we were not supposed to arrive until 3:00 or later. My husband called a # noted on the door. He was told we were to have notified the host ahead of time if we were coming early. We apologized, but since we were driving in from... More

We have stayed at many places in Knoxville and we lived in Knoxville for 6 years. The Maplehurst is a unique place. It's historical and has kept it's rustic charm. The owner will bend over backwards for you and the location can't be beat. We were able to bring both of our dogs and we had a great time. We... More

We enjoyed our evening at Maplehurst Inn very much. Sonny is a very nice host and very helpful. The Inn is a short walk to a nice bbq restaurant on the river with a great view. Our room was cool when we arrived, which was nice since it was 90 degrees out that evening. We enjoyed a nice home cooked... More

Booked this B&B because it was rated #1 in Knoxville. I think that's probably because Sonny is a kind and friendly host and offers several breakfast options. However, the room did not look like the photos or description and felt like it hadn't been cleaned in many many visits - cobwebs everywhere. Bed was very old. I'm not going to... More
