Like previous reviewers have said, this is truly a very special place. Tucked into a quiet little corner in the forest, Nolichucky Gorge Campground epitomizes the amazing peacefulness and beauty that the Southern Appalachians have to offer. I grew up not too far away and don't know how I made it through life not knowing it was close by. I... More

I have been going to the campground since I was very little, so I know everyone in charge. I can honestly say that it is the most magical place to experience nature, as well as the most welcoming adventure you could ever have with your family. There is a small walk to get to the beach location that is most... More

There's something for everyone...camping, fishing, hiking, biking, rafting, or just relaxing and reading a good book by the river! Can't wait til next visit! Have been enjoying this river for years, and as I get older and can't do as much adventurous activities, I still find much to enjoy here! I brought my children here when they were little, and... There were too many dogs off leash at this campground. The owners were not cleaning up after them and there were piles of "crap" everywhere. One dog even urinated on my picnic table. When I said something to the owner he was very rude. I think he has only been managing this campground for a couple of weeks, so not... More

Thank you for letting us know. We have reviewed our pet policy and have new leash rules in effect for this year. We will also make supplies available for proper disposal of dog waste and appreciate everyone helping us keep the campground clean if they bring dogs on vacation. More

I tried to stay at this campground for 2 nights. I had to leave after one. There are a lot of dogs running free. The first night, when we got there, we went walking and the first thing, I stepped in a pile of dog poo. I have two dogs of my own and I just thought maybe somebody hadn't... More

Thank you for your post. You were notified upon arrival that our fees are per person. During daylight hours, there was only 2 people in your party; the next day there was 3 people. We also noticed you had 2 large dogs that caused messes we had to clean up. Also, we still need payment for a bag of ice.... More

We have stayed at the Nolichucky Gorge Campground twice this year, each time occupying a nicely appointed cabin about 70 yards from the Nolichucky River. Our first stay was in February and the second was in April. These trips were primarily focused on being near the nursing home where my mother is a resident. The campground was recommended by a... Every time I visit this place there is some new! I have been using the camp ground for years and always felt welcome. The bathrooms are always clean and the camping spots are well taken care of. I have used the campground during all different times of the year and it has always been a pleasant experience. You have to... More
