The place has done some renovating, you can tell. The rooms are clean (though we had a penny on our floor, so not sure how it was recently vaccuumed) the bathroom & kitchen / sink are were clean as well. The AC & fridge worked fine also. We stayed for more than a few days and have been well cared... more

We visited family in nearby Middlesboro for Thanksgiving and stayed at this hotel. I grew up here and knew at one time the hotel was in terrible financial trouble. With new owners and new renovations and lack of other hotels we stayed here. We had been up since 4am shopping, driving and eating, so we were ready for bed by... more

Having travelled quite a bit for work, I've stayed in many hotels ranging from Indiana to Tokyo, Japan back to Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Cumberland Gap Inn, in it's setting, is a very pleasant stay. The staff was excellent in resolving all the little issues that will arise anytime you aren't at home. The room was clean, pleasant and quiet.... more

Stayed three nights. First night, the headboard from the bed fell off of the wall onto my head. Television also had very bad picture (connector on the back of the tv was broken). Second night, still no resolution to television problem, but maintenance had replaced the headboard. Third night, television replaced, but with a smaller one--about 13 inches. Also, the... more

We've watched Cumberland Gap slowly renovate and we compliment the Webb's for their major part. The Cumberland Gap Inn is the *Only* decent place to stay within the area, (Holiday Inn Express in Middlesboro is terribly outdated). You can walk across the quiet street and get the BEST home cooked meals. Walk off your homemade cobbler by walking the leisure... more

After reading the horror stories here about this inn, we would have avoided it like the plague had a friend not told us that the place is under new ownership and much improved. With that comforting assurance, we checked in for a one-night stay. Indeed, it was perfectly nice. Our room, a king, was spacious, clean, and tastefully furnished and... more

Similar to another review on this hotel, I had a TERRIBLE experience here. When we walked into our room, it hadn't been cleaned from the person who stayed there before us! There was used soap and soap scum on the sink and the shower was filthy. The toilet didn't work even though the very indifferent manager/housekeeper swore up and down... more

... about where I stay and how clean a hotel is and it's presentation. So don't take this review lightly, I picked this Inn apart and this is my opinion of it. This Inn has been and is in the process of being redone. My husband and I happened upon it on a recent trip in Feb 05. The room... more

This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in, and I am not that picky of a person. It is so poorly managed and has so much wrong with it, in my opinion, it should be shut down. *Shabby, dirty, cheap furnishings. *Filthy, moldy, disgustingly dirty, unusable bathrooms. *Mold in sink, corners of rooms, even in the refrigerator. *No... more
