I have seen the bad reviews but I will say about our time there. It was spot on clean room, comfy large bed, and a lovely view, cant moan about bugs because they are every where at night and Patrick who Owns / Runs the place was a really nice Guy who was always there if needed. I would defiantly... More

I really wanted to like this place. On the plus side the view of the creek from the second floor balcony was quite nice. However this was more than offset by my actual experience. I was to stay for two days. My first room had a filthy AC, what appeared to be vomit residue on the covers and black mold... More

We stayed here one night in the winter. The room was clean, bed was clean, but I didn't like a shaggy green carpet. The decor was outdated, the bathroom needed updating, but everything was functional...the motel served us well for our purpose. It was for sale recently (not any more) so it may be under a new management now...hopefully, the... More

I came to this lovely motel from New York and had requested a bonfire and the manager had set it up very beautifully for my family and I. We sat around it and told stories and made s'mores. This bonfire had given us the opportunity to spend quality time with my loved ones. The rooms were nice and clean and... More

I go on last minute all by myself vacations and almost always end up in the mountains....wasn't sure where I was headed but somehow ended up in Cosby lol. I didn't see a lot of places outside of Gatlinburg and I'm not a fan of busy congested places so when navigating side/back roads I found the Cub Motel...I have to... More

If you are accustom to high end motels/hotels, this is NOT the place for you. However, if you need a place to sleep and desire a clean room, comfortable bed, and a place to shower; check right in. This is an old motel that was probably a Holiday Inn 50 years ago as it had the trademark concrete block walls... More

Worst motel I've ever went to. Spiders and other bugs in bed. My room smelled like throw up. Their was a knife under the bed but thank god it was just a toy. Beds have stains. Bugs in the shower. Right when I got to get in the shower right when I turned the water on.....brown water came out. You... More

My wife and I spent three days at the Cub while we hiked in the park. It is off the beaten path and away from the crazy traffic and prices of Gatlinburg. It's like staying at Moms house. Older charming style with a beautiful view of the park to the south. We chose the King suites overlooking the mountain stream.... More

This is going to be hard to write. The positives were the very accommodating manager, the rate and location. Let me begin that you cannot go wrong with the location, I guess you could say that this is the back door to the park. Near the scenic highway and there is a great old school southern style restaurant nearby. This... More

We've driven past The Cub (formerly the Bear Cub) for decades, while on camping trips to the National Park campground nearby. This year due to a severe thunderstorm, we called ahead to see if they could accomodate us for one night. This little gem is very moderately priced, won't break your budget. The new managers have worked very hard to... More
