These folks are by far the coolest people in Wayne County. They have the only liquor license in town. Probably the best food in town. We visited from Memphis and spent the day at Shiloh with our dog. They accommodated out dog with no problem. The family socialized with us until we went to bed. Great place.

We just returned from a weekend stay at the Bear Inn in Clifton, TN. My husband and I rented one of the cabins and were delighted that it was farthest from the highway. The cabin rental was very reasonable as well. The check in process was simple and the staff answered my questions about the area. We did not eat... More

This place is in the middle of nowhere. Friendly accomodating hosts and good food make for a restful stay. Very reasonable rates. good for a small group. The cabins are across a meadow by a small creek. The main lodge rooms by the office and restaurant. Both are clean and nice.

We rented Cabin 4, the Mark Stephen Jones cabin, along the banks of a small creek. The cabin was very clean, and well appointed. It had a nice TV, coffee maker, mini-fridge, and microwave. Coffee cups, some glasses and plates were provided, although there was no place to wash them, other than the bathroom sink. I liked the handmade quilts... More

Quaint setting, friendly hosts, and EXCELLENT food at upstairs restaurant. However, furnishings in cabin made room very tight, beds were not particularly comfortable, there were no dresser drawers to put clothes in and the bathroom was very tiny with no place to set any personal care supplies. High ceilings, having a ceiling fan and the smell of cedar walls and... More

We came to the Bear Inn with our street ministry having no place to stay... Troy and his staff were extremely gracious and hospitable. It was truly a home-away-from-home! The staff is second to none and the hotel itself is cozy and feels like home. We loved the location (right across from a park), and the food was delicious (try... More

This quiet 14 room motel/hotel and 10(?) cabins setting is an example of what the "Little Guy" can do to make a BIG impression on a traveler. What had evidently started out to be an old highway motel, it is very apparent that the Bear Inn has gone through considerable changes and renovations to make it the distinctive, comfortable, and... We really enjoyed ourselves. We were extremely impressed. The cabins were well maintained, clean, and affordable. We spent 4 days and 3 nights here for under $300. There is breakfast served every morning, and dinner served every night for an affordable price too. The bar and grill was a nice addition to the hotel and a huge convenience for us.... More
