I stayed one night. The lady checking me in was terrific. The lobby is beautiful. The room was large. There was a sitting area with a tv and a semi- separate bedroom area with a tv. No refrigerator! Bathroom was a little worn and tired, but clean. The room was actually very noisy even though I was on the fourth... More

For a hotel this size it is truly average. The rooms, elevators, corridors, courtyard etc are all getting dated. The lobby is a magnificent 1926 wood creation and the ballroom is everything a ballroom should be, if your planning a wedding here, this would be a good choice. If your staying here, not so much, there is better in Chattanooga,... More

My hubby and I were trying to get away without the kids, but couldn't find a sitter. The hotel changed our reservation from a king to two queens without a problem. Beds are super comfy. We had drinks one night at the restaurant downstairs, and breakfast there another day. Beth, the bartender is awesome! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.... More

Superb beds, beautiful hotel. Nice people at the front desk, and the location is great. You can get a $5 gift voucher if you choose not to have your room cleaned. The Starbucks is convenient and the free shuttle is right at the door step. Fine dining is very close, some really good choices like Easy Bistro and St. Johns.

So the hallway of our floor does seem to need some care, but the room was very clean and very nice. The view from our king was of the garage ramp. I think you need a suite to have a city view at least on the third floor. Service was very friendly. Previous reviews indicated some issue with valet parking.... More

six blocks from downtown, elegant old building with a v good restaurant and a Starbucks in the lobby. Friendly bartender and helpful waiters. Bathrooms are quite dated, need an overhaul. Our room was comfortably sized and quiet. Unique property, fun to stay here instead of a predictable chain. Walking distance to several excellent restaurants.

I decided on a whim to getaway for the weekend to think. I arrived in Chattanooga at 5:30pm on a Friday evening with no reservation. I checked many hotels via apps on my phone and by making calls. Everyone was booked or outrageously expensive. I road by the Read House and decided to give it a try. All the staff... More

I enjoyed the Read House, but I was only there for a short night stay. The room was a nice surprise. It was larger than many rooms in which I've stayed. I enjoyed the large, old windows and the extra bump out space the included to very comfortable chairs. It was the perfect spot to read the paper and enjoy... More

The hotel is fun with the history, close to everything. We walked everywhere and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The walls are paper thin, we could the person in the other end of the phone our neighbor was talking to. Thankfully no one was loud late into the night so we actually slept great. The parking at...
