I had the good fortune of staying at the Iron Mountain Inn Bed and Breakfast while I was hiking the Appalachian Trail. The surroundings are beautiful and the inn itself is equally impressive, both rustic and elegant. The attention to detail in the inn’s design is obvious. The main floor is a warm, flowing space with a stone fireplace, tasteful... More

Annually, we go to Maui, NYC, Vail, Hawk Lake Lodge in Canada, and Iron Mountain Inn. We mix-in other trips throughout the year but we generally return annually to those 5 locations. So, we think very highly of IMI and our friends that we meet there. Breakfast is served daily and it is not a continental breakfast, but a full,... More

What a great find! This is a beautiful inn and everything about our stay was perfect. The house was beautiful with lots of great personal touches that made it feel very warm. Glad we chose this as our first B&B experience. Thanks to Vicki for being a gracious host.

This was my first stay at a B&B, and I will be back. Ms Vicky is extremely friendly and hospitable. She seen to our every need and the food was delicious. Since I have never been at a B&B I thought it might be awkward, like staying at a strangers house. But Vicky put my husband and I at ease... More

Thanks for the nice comments and glad you enjoyed our peace and quiet. Right now as I write this, the katydids are calling to one another....one of the wonderful night noises in the late summer/early fall! Remember each B&B is unique so when you travel, enjoy the differences of each host as each one provides a special stay in their... More

We stayed in the Chalet, so I am not sure how the B&B is, but the Chalet was scary bad. First, the air conditioner was broken, only half of the windows opened, and of those half of the screens were torn so they could not stay open due to bugs. The beds in the 2 rooms upstairs are fold outs... More

Although I did not know when the reviewer stayed at the Creekside Chalet (his name was not on the list of guests), he posted a review of the Chalet on the Iron Mountain Inn B&B page by mistake. However, since I own both, I will respond to his review of the Creekside Chalet. I'm sorry the a/c didn't work because... More

We recently spent a few days at the Iron Mountain Inn and what a treat it was! The house was designed by the owner Vicky. She thought of every comfort for her guests. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The Inn is full of interesting memorabilia that Vicky has collected. I was intrigued by the old... More

Barter is wonderful, I certainly agree. And don't forget the first weekend in October is the Story Telling Festival! What a marvelous and unique experience it is! Maybe you'll be able to come back and enjoy all the stories...ghost, funny, serious, or "for adults only"! It's the wonderful guests who make my job as innkeeper so special. Thank you for... More

This is a charming B&B in the Tennessee mountains right on the TN/NC border, and very close to the Appalachian Trail. It is a little more than a half-hour from Boone. There is plenty of outdoor activities in the immediate area, the centerpiece being the large Watauga Lake and water activities. The structure is relatively new and was built to... More

First experience at a B&B and did not know what to expect. We had a great time there. Room was wonderful. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was elegant and delicious. Many amenities: bottomless cookie jar, coffee machine just outside room, candy jar in room, bath well supplied with towels, robes, soaps, shampoo, body gel, etc. Vicki the owner/innkeeper was a... The views are beautiful and the atmosphere is extremely relaxing. We had the place all to ourselves & felt very much at home. The romantic set up was provided without having to ask, which was a lovely surprise. The breakfast was phenomenal & the service was great...we truly felt pampered. This is a place I would definitely visit again.

My husband and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We wanted to go somewhere with a lake and close to the Gray Fossil site and were so lucky to find this hidden gem! We stayed on the property in a cozy and VERY secluded cabin. The hot tub was a joy every morning and evening, the bed was comfortable,... More
