We've been hiking and camping together for years, and this year we were VERY PAMPERED by staying in the Creekside Chalet. We still had the isolation and quiet that we look for, but in a gorgeous chalet. It was very clean, had all the amenities, and we were in a perfect location. We celebrated two successful AT hikes sipping champagne... More

My wife and I enjoyed a recent two-night stay at Iron Mountain Inn. Top-notch accommodations, including the dumbwaiter so we didn’t have to lug our bags up the stairs. Our room was spacious and clean. The views of the Appalachians from our room and the rest of the house and deck were spectacular. Our host, Vikki, was helpful as we... More

I was thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail southbound this year when the weather beat me into submission and I decided to call this place. The owner/operator named Vikki drove all the way out to the trail to pick me up, took me to a place to eat/resupply and then brought me to the B & B. The house was UNBELIEVABLE in... More

As always, we had a great time. This was our 4th year in a row. The weather was dismal but the fellowship was fabulous. Vikki is a wonderful person and cook. You can get to Virginia and NC in 45 minutes. It is also only 45 minutes to Bristol, Tenn.

We made our annual visit to IMI in October. The leaves in the mountains are spectacular in October and now our new favorite month. We have 4 couples that reserve the entire Inn and we have become great friends (we met by staying at the Inn in prior years). My wife and I fly-in from Texas thru CLT. The others... More

It was a repeat visit for us. We were attending the Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, but went a couple days early so we could enjoy Iron Mountain. Our visit started with a glass of wine with the innkeeper on the deck - so we could see the start of the changing leaves over the mountain. Vikki provides excellent company as... More

Gorgeous scenery, mystic with the clouds traversing the mountain tops. Lovely accommodations including a very comfy bed, outstanding views from the Green Room balcony as well as other parts of the Inn, sumptuous breakfasts---alas--the recipe for a tranquil, relaxing getaway. You will not be disappointed. Vikki is a wonderful hostess. Quite knowledgeable about the area and a great conversationalist! Check... More

Another stay at the Iron Mountain Inn, with Vikki's "pampering perfected" hospitality - and another delicious breakfast served up with a spectacular view! It's official: I've now stayed in every room in the main house, and am starting over. Lucky me. :)

The perfect get-away, nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, peaceful and relaxing. The accommodations are outstanding, spacious and deluxe. We stayed in the Equestrian Room - great bed and a private bathroom with a spa tub and shower including steam. Vicki is a gracious hostess and wonderful cook. For us it was a quiet respite (and palatial !) after 5... More

I am so happy I stumbled upon this B&B on the internet. My husband and I had been in the area over New Year's and wanted to come back to enjoy Lake Watauga and the nearby hiking in the summer. What a beautiful place. So affordable, first of all, and so comfortable with truly one of the best views I've... More
