I just returned from a business trip where I stayed at the Inn at Montgomery Bell State Park. The food is always fantastic there. The rooms need some renovation. I think they may be in the process of renovating some of the rooms, but mine wasn't one of them. The room was clean, but there were some cracks in the... More

The Southern buffet at the hotel is excellent. They keep the food bar stocked on Sunday lunch hours. The view from the lodge/hotel is beautiful. There is swimming and golf. The park is an older one and the new cabins are a welcome improvement.

I took my family to stay here. The place is a nice place to stay and we had a beautiful view of the lake. It is the place where the Cumberland Presbyterian Church started and was a overall good place to spend the evening we had 2 full beds in the room and no refig or micro. Dickson is not... More

Advertised as enviromentaly friendly the villas which were probably originally very nice are now run down due to lacadazical maintenance. Indoor and outdoor light fixtures are clogged with dead insects, bath floor was unmopped or permanently stained, broken and missing asphalt caused mud from the parking area to wash onto the sidewalk and deck and was not cleared, routine spring... A conference brought us here annually for five years. The setting, a dense hardwood forest on rolling hills with a large lake, is gorgeous. The hotel is another issue. Although obviously at one time a nice hotel it has become run-down and seedy. Almost everything from cleanliness, to linen, to food is just good enough. Our reception at the desk... More

Let me be clear here, the State Park is nice. The hotel, although cheap, and boardering on charming from the first glance, is a DUMP. The rooms are dingy, damp, stinky, and the beds are old and very uncomfortable. The tv is tiny, the AC is loud. The little alarm clock radio hisses and rattles, the carpet is filthy. If... More

I bought a Groupon and it was a really good deal. Stayed 3 nights over the Easter weekend. The park is beautiful and we stayed during the Spring when the Dogwoods were blooming. I read some of the the negative reviews here and was hoping they were exaggerated. I believe they are. The hotel is older and not flashy. The... More

When we come to Burns to visit relatives, this is always our hotel choice. Why stay at a chain hotel in Dickson when you can stay here and go for great walks with lightning bugs ? Accommodations are not fancy, but very clean and quiet with friendly staff.

Halfway through March my wife and I said "Enough of winter. Let's go somewhere and play some golf." Rather than look at the usual suspects (Myrtle Beach or south Florida) we settled on Tennessee after checking out the Tennessee Golf Trail. We chose the course in Montgomery Bell state park. We're were glad we did. The course is tough, interesting... More

We had lunch at the Inn at Montgomery Bell and it was great. Best fried chicken and catfish in many a moon. Also good sides and great view. What else could you ask for??? The fried okra was also delicious. Nice salad bar and a few non fired items round out the restaurant. While we don't eat a lot a... More

The rolling hills of Dickson County contain a treasure that was considered more precious than gold to the builders of young America.
