My husband couldn't get time off from work for a long getaway for our 25th anniversary, so we decided that the most special place to spend a romantic weekend would be Magnolia Manor Bed and Breakfast. We had not stayed there before, but we have heard about this B & B for a long time and always meant to go... More

Magnolia Manor in Bolivar, TN has to be the best place I have ever visited. We were welcomed just like family. Tom and Elaine could not have been any kind or sweeter. We stayed in the C.A. Miller suite and it was beautiful. I am a Civil War Re-enactor and I got some wonderful pictures of me in full dress.... More

The place is admittedly "cute" and has a lot of cool history, but there's little more to it than that. The owners sell their "own" wine there by buying $4 bottles at Trader Joe's, then slapping their own ink-jet label on it, and offering it to you at $22. We didn't appreciate that (and the complementary glass was gross). The... More

I stayed in the C.A. Miller Suite. I found the entire place to be simply charming. The hosts, Tom and Elaine were so sweet. As for the decor of the place...it is a step back in time. Everything there is museum quality. If you are into the paranormal, you will find something there. I had things happen that were "firsts"... More

This past weekend my husband and I stayed at Magnolia Manor. It was the most awesome experience! The hosts Tom & Elaine were so charming! We stayed at the cottage which was so romantic. Tom met us at the cottage and thoughtfully explained how to work everything. Then we joined them for a glass of wine. We did have a... More

I had the good fortune of finding Magnolia Manor during a recent trip to the Shiloh National Military Park. I had not read any reviews nor did I carry any expectations of my visit. Upon my arrival I was met by a very engaging and wonderful man, Tom, and soon thereafter his wife, Elaine. Tom guided me to my room... More

My senior mother and I spent our two nights at Magnolia Manor, owned and operated by the most friendly and helpful hosts, Elaine and Tom. We truly enjoyed learning about history and life of the South. Famouns Yangkee generals stayed here during the Cilvil War -- Generals Grant, Sherman, Logan and McPherson. The Manor has been certified by ghost hunters... More

Being born and raised in the South, I am definitely no stranger to good manners, charm and graciousness.....and Magnolia Manor is exceptional in its display of all these. I had driven by Magnolia Manor many times and was always captured by its alluring beauty on the surface. The fact that I am also a paranormal investigator made me even more... More

I was in town to see some of the battlefields, Memphis, and some long distance friends. I booked my stay at Magnolia Manor at the behest of a good friend from Jackson, TN. When I arrived, the welcome was something you can't find at a hotel. Elaine and Tom greeted me as if I were family just returning from a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Magnolia Manor Bed & Breakfast is a very historic home built by Judge Austin Miller in 1849. It was the home of the Miller family until 1972. Elaine purchased the manor in 1981 and opened the home to the public as a B & B in 1985. Elaine's goal in the restoration is to keep it as close to the era in which it was built as possible while still offering modern convinces and comfort. It's furnished with period antiques from the 1840s to the 1860s. Rather than gutting the house and remodeling it with all new materials, great care is taken in preserving what is original to the home. It is as the Miller family left it. Guests are offered complimentary Hors d'oeuvres and a glass of wine or other beverage of their choice. Breakfast is prepared by Elaine herself. Magnolia Manor Bed & Breakfast has received "One of the South's BEST Bed & Breakfast" praise by Fodors travel guide. It's also been featured on HGTV's ...If Walls Could Talk" and photographed by National Geographic Magazine. Magnolia Manor Bed & Breakfast was also featured on Tennessee Crossroads Television program. ... more   less
