I had chosen to stay in the Apple Tree Hotel as it was close to the wedding venue where I was getting married. Unfortunately I now wish we hadn't. My initial impression of the room was that there was a very specific smell what I would describe as stale cigarette smoke however having raised my concerns with the hotel owners... More

How sorry and disappointed we were to receive your comments, please be assured that we do take all comments seriously. As we had mentioned in response to your earlier email, we can assure you any smell in your room was not from smoking, we ourselves couldn't detect any smell so we can only apologise if the smell affected your stay.... I have been staying at the hotel for several weeks on business. The staff are very welcoming and Simon is a very good host. The food is of a good standard with a set menu that is not too onerous and the option of two specials each day. The rooms vary in size although the external rooms would be the... More

Stayed overnight while on a return trip from Cornwall - booked this hotel as it was close to the M5 and I don't really like chain hotels. The room was disappointing , one of the smallest rooms I have stayed in. I was told, on checking out, that there are larger rooms in the more modern part of the hotel.... More

Many thanks for taking the time to review the Apple Tree, we were sorry to hear you were disappointed with the size of the room. Due to the nature of the older building some 350 years old, one or two rooms are on the smaller side however we ensure all rooms have the same facilities. Had we known your disappointment,... More

I visited Nether Stowey to see the cottage where Samuel Taylor Coleridge, the author of the Ancient Mariner, lived with his family from 1797 to 1799. The three very informative ladies from NT made it a very pleasant visit. I stayed the previous night at the Castle of Comfort nearby, but Carol was fully booked for Saturday so arranged a... More

I've stayed at this hotel for quite a few weeks now so I think my comments are of value. This is a great little hotel offering good value accommodation, good food and hospitality. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a stay in the area. I've tried almost all food on the menu and have my favourites but it's... More

Just a coffee stop on a road trip for my mother and I. We were greeted warmly by our host, who apologised that he had just turned on the coffee machines so there might be a delay. Then he offered us filter coffee as the fastest option (many other varieties of serving coffee available here) and asked if we would... More

I stayed in the Apple Tree Hotel for one night while working in the area. It was recommended by colleagues who have stayed here before. My room was well equipped and decorated, however, it may feel a bit dated to the younger generation. The en-suite was very good with a walk-in shower. The room had everything you needed from a...
