After two weeks on the road across the west, this was a great place. Where these other people were staying were not the same place we stayed at. Room was great, people were great, everything was perfect.

To be fair, it is hard to choose a Hotel online, you can't get the real feel of a Hotel without seeing it in person. However, first impressions are everything, and the way we were greeted, along with the fact that the lobby dirty and uninviting set the tone for our entire stay. The room smelled musty, and like cigarette... More

Hotel is old and very dated, there is no upgraded features in room. Room had a musty odor, TV was an old 1990 style RCA, vanity area very very small, closet behind vanity has no door, small refrigerator w mini microwave on top (very tacky looking). Bathroom also very dated, ugly wire rack in bathroom next to towel rack holds... More

Stayed in room 320 on October 4th 2014. Woke up on the 5th to a bothersome bite on my wrist, at 1st I thouyght it was a spider bite, not the most pleasent thing in the world somehting I can live with. By Monday moning there was puss oozing out of initial bite and a line of bites from by... More

We spent two nights here while doing the touristy stuff in the Black Hills area. The hotel was fairly busy. Our room was fine and of a decent size. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The indoor pool looked nice, although we didn't use it. I'd say it was slightly noisier than average, but not noisy enough to... More

Not bad not great. Very average. Would stay again if I was on a budget, but there are nicer hotels in the area for a few bucks more. Pool was nice for kids and Perkins is convenient. Was very crowded and loud...odd for off season. Checkout was a nightmare and I waited in line for 30 minutes.

We had a wonderful stay at this convenient, comfortable hotel...until someone threw a rock through our rental car back windshield -- at night. The staff was very dismissive when this happened and did not apologize or acknowledge that something bad had happened on their property...the police were dismissive also -- if it wasn't for this incident, it would be a... In addition to the place smelling like cigarette smoke and dirty chlorine, there were bed bugs in the bed. I lay down and after two minutes felt bites all over me. Needless to say my wife and I hightailed it out of there as fast as we could.

Stopped here after a trip to Custer, SD. Yes, this isn't a brand spanking new hotel, but it was very clean, had great beds and a friendly staff. It also had a nice pool area with a fun water slide and hot tub. Don't skip this hotel because it isn't a "name brand". Great affordable stay! Our only issue is... More

Right off I-90, the Grand Gateway hotel was pleasantly clean and the rates were reasonable. There is no breakfast but a Perkins restaurant attached. The staff was very friendly. The pool area looked like a lot of fun for kids. It is 30 minute drive to Mt Rushmore. There were other places closer and cheaper.
